Do you understand how implication works? I already granted that players who want to tackle Ex and Savage content need to be up to snuff so that they're not jeopardizing clears/unnecessarily burdening those players who have put in the work to attain the requisite level of competence. I know that as a casual player who is not demanding to be carried through Savage/Ex that your statements pertaining to this issue specifically do not apply to myself or other casuals who are not making this demand. That much is obvious.

However, when you are saying that the people who can't do Savage have had the rest of the game "dumbed down" due to their inability to "put to braincells together" then you are, by way of implication (A = people who can't do Savage can't put two braincells together, B = I can't do Savage, therefore A = B) very much impugning my intelligence, and the intelligence of everyone else who can't do Savage. You may not have meant to make that implication—and I'll acknowledge that as fact if that is indeed the case—but you made it all the same.

How about: A built-in private parser whose results can be viewed after you leave the instance. The game could maintain an average performance database by job and item level, which your results would be compared against, not the other players.


So, after a run, I'd get a pop-up to view my results, and my DPS / HPS / tankiness(?) would be shown relative to the overall average. After viewing, (or not), my personal data would be discarded.

Why would people use that when they have a better tool?
Not only that, but the better tool allows them to kick weak-links from the party without wondering who it is, and it also allows parses to be broken down, so you can see when/where/how to improve?

I would love it if I could open a in-game window that is already built into the hud to show only my dps real-time when hitting a striking dummy at my FC home, or anytime really.

tl;dr: SE will never implement a stopgap that stops players from queuing up for savage, even though something that tells players if they're playing terribly and not up to standards is greatly needed, japanese culture revolves around respecting others and their time, which is why we'll never see a proving grounds of some sorts, because it's already expected to be internalized, now, once you cross the seas and come to western culture, that gets thrown out the window because it's all about "me me me".

You see expecting others to consider other people's time is obviously toxic. You can possibly think about the other 7peoole in your run.

To put it in words most raiders and old-school MMO lovers love: You could also learn to C O M M U N I C A T E. People not respecting your time for whatever reason? Communicate as the MM in MMORPG seems to allegedly imply and find like-minded people with the same values and priorities as you have. This will not only improve your gaming experience but also your communication and social skills! Awesome, isn't it?
