As a minority, is it out of the question to hope for representation?

I would gladly trade you my races place as a swimsuit model/playboy bunny girl in a heartbeat if it meant I could appear more often as a PLD in other artworks. I've always liked the image of being a cool, cute, and graceful female knight, and am sick and tired of being nothing more then a show girl in a skimp outfit. Yet, sadly, on the few cases SE does make a PLD artwork it's always some middle aged male character, save twice long ago in early 2.0 when they did make one of a miqo'te female and one of a midlander female. But since then there hasn't been any more cute female PLD artworks made.

Now I'm not saying I should get what I want before you Roe's get what you want. I'm mostly just pointing out that not all cat people are happy with the way things are now and have things we want as well that we're not getting (or I, at least, can't speak for others), and as such understand very much how you feel in this matter. In that regards, it would be great if we could support each other in getting what we want.

So with that: I support Roe's getting more presence in event artwork.

I would be honored to have a character as awesome as her in my race.

Admittedly, amongst the main characters there is some serious race imbalance. Two highlander girls (who look like midlanders, although I understand why), one midlander dude, two female lalas, one male lala, one female miqo, no male miqos, one elezen dude, no elezen ladies, (two elezen teens), no au ra of any kind.

And the male lala and one of the highlanders are dead, or as good as in Minfilia's case. Yugiri goes some way to address the balance for au ra, but if we're counting minor characters we have lots more hyur to consider in the domans. And lhaminn I suppose. (I want hoary and coultenet to have a bigger part, damn it)

And part of the issue isn't an unbalanced rep, since hyur are notably more common in eorzea than any other race according to the lore census, so I guess that makes sense. It's that their go-to for sexy is miqo/midlander girl, and their go-to for "not sexy" is a roe dude or a lala of some gender. The valentione's stuff is an exception by nature of its lore, but I want sexy roes and non-sexy ladies! (Or non-sexualised, anyway)

And yes, the calender is amazing for this. Especially Reyner who appears to have a huge crush on literally everyone except R'ashaht. Bless.

As for us Fem Roes/Roegadames, we do make a presence when we go to any duty. The stops, the starings and them curiosity from other players always happens. Specially when we're healing! <3

The thing people don't understand is that one bright light can outshine 300 dim lights.

Not trying to say we're better than miqo'te but really we shine bright wherever we are and for that alone Yoshida and his team need to realize how important we are for the presentation of eorzea (art, story, etc)

Why does it feel like some people just seek satsifaction for their very own personal fetish...
I mean, are we talking about "hey lets include more races" or are we actually going the "i want more cute catboys instead of boring catgirls".

Also, from what I know, femroes and catboys didnt even exist in 1.0 and were solely added because part of the player base asked for them.


Also: dont try the "but youre a miqote and miqote are presented everywhere" card on me. I dont give a flying f*** about it. Tbh,i find most FFXIV artwork to be mediocre at best compared to some other games.

A lot of us are tried of every event poster being a cat/lizard in a sexy pose. Just look at the current one you got a cat butt front in center.

I've actually been seeing a lot more FemRoes on Ultros since Stormblood. >.>
It used to be whenever i encountered one in the wild, there's be so much broing out, friend requests sent.
Now they don't even respond to /brofist half the time. :(
