Connecting the DoTs: A Summoner Guide

Hmm, I do get one Ruin III under Raging Strikes after that Deathflare, so abilities hit under Raging are basically the same in both openers. My first Ruin III is under TA, yes. So I guess the only differences are:

1- Earlier AF timing in my opener.
2- Your pot has one extra Ruin III and Fester under it.
3- My opener has one extra Ruin III in it.

With 3 stacks of aetherflow, and Aetherflow ready to be used immeadiately again, by the time I can Dreadwyrm for the second time there's still 25 seconds left until tri-disaster is up.

So I'll do the 2F1P opener, once I have the 3rd aethertrail stack I use Aetherflow again to have 3 stacks ready, activate Dreadwyrm, use tri-disaster after the first ruin 3 cast. I use one fester during dreadwyrm to get it within raging strikes, then I do the rest of the rotation normally (only using fester on single target, never blowing all of my stacks just to get to Dreadwyrm right away) and by the time I get to the second Dreadwyrm activation, tri-disaster is still 25 seconds or so until it's ready.

So, I have been discussing this with a few friends, and was wondering if anyone else came across this.

On A8S, bane'd DoTs on Swindler don't snapshot from the original source ? Looking at these two logs:

The average Bio 2 tick for example, is lower on Swindler, even though it was bane'd from Blaster & @2:55, those DoTs were bane'd from Vortexer yet they are ticking consistently lower than they should.

Looks good, except you have two Alexander rings instead of one scrip.

The gear seems very split between Spell Speed and Crit this patch. You rarely see both stats on the same gear, probably to help statics with two casters not fight over drops.

Hits 591 accuracy but I figure with the anima and the ability to alter its stats you can just add the +1 from that. Also enough SS to reach a 2.35 gcd.

I am interested to see other setups, anyone else?

Not the best "on paper" but just following my intuition. Statweight for SS should be outdated and i personally don't trust DEt that much. Well nothing "scientific" though, that's what i go for.

Yep, my bad. Just replace one of them with the Scripture ring. As for the link you posted, I am pretty sure someone reported before that they missed @ 591 accuracy. I was never able to try 591 on A8S since the gear didn't allow it so I am just going to aim for atleast 592 accuracy until we get a confirmation that there are 0 misses at 591.

Just got back into the game after taking a break for a couple months. I'm noticing people sharing different openers so is there still an optimal / cookie cutter opener that people work off of and that I could use at first since I'm getting back into playing as SMN? Also what's the timing with using fester / aether using abilities after the opener so that I'm getting it out as much as I can but I'm also not using it too early and not having to use DWT before my cooldowns are ready?

Ehhhh not really. Easy opener is apply dots, fester death flare fester, then hit RS and DWT, tri disaster+contagion, spam ruin 3 and then death flare. The rest is all about using DWT at the optimal time, which differs from fight to fight. You also want to co ordinate with your team mates, with my group I wait until Trick Attack and Battle Litany are up before I throw Tri Disaster up.

Remember DWT is your burst, so use it when you can make the most of it. The worst feeling when the boss becomes invulnerable and you waste a death flare... Nidogg ex is a good example, he flies off after about 30 seconds at the beginning.

Moral of the story is use the burst rotation when you have a chance, and keep your dots up.
