Not at all.

CLL/DR/DL and DR Savage are all pretty fun to do

The meme builds you can make are fun

Duels are also pretty challenging too (if you aren't RDM cheesing)

It's also the new 71-80 best level grind area too. People get insane exp there so you'll see plenty leveling their unleveled jobs there.

So not a total waste and not everyone hates it.

I think you'd have been more angry with a half finished Dragonsong War Ultimate than a delayed one tbh.
