Petition for more wards / instanced housing

Logged in to this forum for the first time in a long time just because of this nonsense.

Setting aside limited availability and all the 'supposed' design justifications for this; the fact you have ZERO chance of getting a house legitimately without logging in to the server within 5 minutes, less on many servers, is a huge indefensible problem.
FYI I was able to log in immediately, so this isn't a 'I was late so im salty' post.

I get them not wanting to have housing for everyone, wanting it to be a limited resource of some kind, having it so only 25% of a server population can have a house, and there are so many FCs unable to get one and access the content gated behind it, is unacceptable.

We should treat personal housing like retainers. $2/mo small, $4/mo medium, $6/mo large. People would pay it for personal housing; fixes SE's known resource issue. Give players with housing already a one year pass for "luck".

FC's should get a pass on monthly fee.

SE made mistakes with housing. It is extremely limited to expand on demand/need. Force new boards to open based on factors of plots sold etc This would keep a competitive element for an on demand drop for the larges/mediums, and meet the players wants. Scale it out so 30%~40% may buy a home if they choose.

There should be a check in play so that alt characters don't have an FC they run each; FYI goblet ward 1 in Famfrit as an example. That guy runs an unfair advantage.

I see very few are coming across with actual solutions, they need our input all. This is our chance to make a difference.

Signed asf...its just unfair to everyone who worked just as hard for a plot and who pay just as much to play this game to be so limited and on a "first come first served" basis.

Having to rely in pure RNG (launcher crash, launcher lag, server crash, etc) to have a chance at something that comes up once every couple of years is unfair on players and FCs. Of course the demolition helps, but nowhere near all the demands.

We need a better system.

i had a fucking day when the wards went into sale. you why? when i heard the news on the date, i realized that i will still be in the office at the estimated completion time of the update therefore, i was forced to buy a pc version of the stormblood expansion just for me to have the chance to log in with my laptop which at the time i only have the a realm reborn version. it cost me already. after the getting the digital code, i realized that it still needs to be updated therefore, i was forced to update it for 1 day because it was freakin' 8gb! i managed that leaving my laptop almost on overnight. come the day of reckoning, my supposed 1pm meeting was moved to 4pm! could you imagine how perfect the timing was! i had no choice it was a client meeting a contract negotiation wherein if i will not attend, our company may probably lose my job... so my only hope was the meeting to finish by 5pm. alas! our client came 6pm!!! sooo amazing!!!

when i was presenting our offers, i really wanted to cry deep inside. of all the time in the world... i've waited for this, i invested so much... time, effort, blood, money... my whole self!!! so developers, i hope you are reading this message, can you imagine how painful is this psychologically? don't you imagine that yes, you may wash your hands out of this and get away easily because you know very well that we need your amazing game... in reality, all our burdens and pains just for these unfair setup of housing scheme are your making. so please, if i have to beg even personally, give us a different opportunity to own our house. i just realized that no matter how fucking hard i earn those gils and wait for the right moment, but a fucking day like mine would happen again, it will be just a cycle of forever frustration... can you bear that developers? do you really want us to suffer so much when we are paying and loyal to your games since the beginning...

i really wish you may consider any of the following:

1) propose a banking system or lot agent wherein we can invest our savings and in the event that there will be selling of lots, this will be automatically deducted from our investment
2) as a temporary measure, housing in instance is fine but in the event that there is a lot open you will be notified immediately since you have an investment already
3) loyalty considerations, i am a legacy player and until know all my earnings are not utilized for the housing because i always get this bad luck. thus, i hope you can give considerations that a certain lots are dedicated for loyal players

Signed. I’ve been playing since 1.0 alpha and I’ve still yet to get a house! I know they are limited but my PS4 my pc and my laptop couldn’t update because incorrect version which wouldn’t update. And then after the reinstall I had a massive que and I’m told by others who logged in that the whole server of plots had sold in 5 minutes!! I was not even allowed the chance to try and get a house. My issue is that the server can’t handle the congestion for everyone logging in to get a house and that there just aren’t enough. I thought with alll kuragane houses gone that other wards in mist or garden would come up but none! Should be one house per server!

Well the good news is i don't think this is completely going to waste , since a dev on the french forums has posted something.Whether or not this will do any thing is to be seen.

Just keep signing don't let up for a second let get are voices heard this time.

4) auction or reservation system, you can allot your money to a specific ward that has been occupied already hoping that the owner will soon leave. thus if you are first in the line, you will be prioritized or once the new lots are ready but not yet opened for selling, you may invest in advance as for of pre-selling. seriously, just to get a house, all my savings from alpha to the current version, i'm willing to put out just to own a house

'coz my hopes are really starting to fade already... how ironic isn't it? you are promoting us to be warriors of light but look what's happening with us because of this unbalance selling, darkness is taking over... thank you for all those who managed to read my plea...

Logged in at 6 minutes after server live and all plots gone in new area and old plots after transfers.

Signed, I logged on early, got booted out twice of the server after hitting 0 on the que, and second time 700 and then going into a never ending spiral of Error 1016 or whatever only to find out it was gone, I even had FFXIV on my SSD for this.

This is a problem that was predicted and should have been planned for.

Logged in at server up, 250 in queue. World starts loading after a small number of minutes but then repeatedly get 'Can't access world data'. Took another 25 minutes to load into the world way to late for any housing.

The server infrastructure is nearly as bad as their planning for this event.

The title says everything. We are your customers. Do your jobs.

There needs to be a change. With the pure number of players in the game per server, there needs to be an increase across the board in all districts or development of an instanced housing district. Yes there's a lot of data, but this is SE. They have the knowledge and skill to make instanced very efficient.

I'm happy to see that the French forum has received a response. They are starting to notice.

They take our homes! We take there servers!!! Complete hogwash, a flaw in the game. Yes please bring us more homes to those that appreciate the game and want to continue to play.

Signed. Was there up until servers came online. Power went out for a split second, but the delay put me behind everyone else. Our FC was unable to get the house we wanted, even though we had been saving for months. So glad that being 6 minutes late was long enough to lose out. Please fix this SE, everything else about your game is fantastic except for this.

None of the advertising for FF XIV includes disclaimers connected to the player housing such as 'while supplies last' or 'for the first X-many characters (NOT players) only'. Relatively new player, only arrived a little after SB launched, but have to say disappointed is putting it mildly.

I want to say I don't think everyone should get a free house (that is what the apartments are for). Much like the relic weapon if you want a house you should have to work for it in the way of making Gil. If you have the Gil, you should be able to get the house. The more Gil you have, the better house you should be able to buy (this way, those that make the most money still feel like they have something others do not).

Apartments aren't free. They cost a little more than half of the cost of a small house for a room smaller than some of the inn rooms, no yard, and no access to some content gated through housing.

You are right, apartments are not free but cost only 500,000 Gil which is still relatively cheap to the minimum price for a small house of 1,488,000. Again, if someone has the Gil, I agree that they should be able to get a house. If they don't have the Gil, they shouldn't be able to get a house.

I don't really understand why housing is treated like an privilege in the first place.
Everyone who wants a house should be able to get one, without being effected by serveruptime, queue to get in and crashes upon server going live.
Having like 2000 houses for 15000 players like e.g. on Odin is absurd.
What makes other people "better" than others? The fact that they had no isses loging in? Great job.

There is many people who are upset. Everyone is paying their sub so everyone should be treated equally.
Everyone who wants a house and got the money should get one. That's all there is to say. Everything else is beyond stupid.

The whole ordeal was an absolute joke. I had my heart set on getting my FC a bigger house and we all logged in at he same time. Only 3 of us were able to log in w/o constantly getting booted back to the main screen. Why should housing be a rat race, oh wait, it’s not a race when not everyone can do it at the same time. Took me 15mins to log in and when I got to an ‘empty plot’ it was locked due to someone getting there minutes before I was able to get there. Nice job, SE. Another year, another load of awful house buying.

and therein lies the problem, a lot of the players writing this Do have the gil and still have it because they got cockblocked by the login queue. I'm on Balmung, and housing properties here (including apartments) never opens up once they've been bought. Not only is the system itself a disaster, but players who have a right to spend their hard earned gil on a house of whatever size they want... can't, because home demolishment doesn't seem to work.

And I agree with you. I said that if the player has the Gil they should be able to get a house. They shouldn't be limited for the reasons you stated.

That's where the whole "you guys are entitled" idiocy is coming from. What they aren't understanding is that we do have the gil. There's a mountain of it in my FC coffers. I still can't buy a plot because there aren't plots to be bought.
