So I just had a power outage during a cut scene, and now that everything is up and running i get blindsided that i have to reinstall. I saw that most people on here only had to do the Stormblood patch, but for whatever reason i have a 22,747.41MB file that i have to download. It's dreadfully slow as well, only doing 0.26MB/s. I'm playing on the PS4 so it comes to a shock that it seems i'm redownloading the whole game or something. Just wanted to share my store cause I've never had this happen in like the 4 or so years I've played.

Square trusting PSN with a system update was a mistake. You're talking about the same people that the the patch in March that ruined their network connection for hundreds of thousands of players and had to "Look into the problem" for a month and a half. The people that are there now have no idea what they're doing.

Also, my power outage was during a cutscene in a storyline instances as well. I don't understand how they can release an update that causes a power surge on a system, let alone knew it was possible to do such a thing.

And just happened to me as well, same thing, got a powercut and when opened the launcher had to download 22gb ... still waiting for the download after 6 hours already. I thought this issue would get fixed on last maint... it happened to a friend on the second day of early access :/

I can confirm that this issue just happened to me. Was playing my PS4 and turning off whilst my power switched off and here I am waiting for 22.747 GB to download. Considering that this has been an issue since launch of SB it really should have been fixed and I'm reading that some people have had to redownload multiple times? Ridiculous

Im also having this issue, though i've been downloading this time for about 2 hours so far. I had a download going for like 2 before it, but it crashed and I had to start it over. Really nervous about leaving it on over night because of the earlier crash. I had, quite literally, a one second power outage in here that shut off the PS4. Its really a bummer since i had been looking so forward to playing today after working every day since last Saturday.

I know exactly how you feel I'm in the same boat. Hard work at week, log back in after this mornings power outage and I get this...

And what's even worse with this crappy issue is that I can't play another game on the PS4 while it downloads in the background because you have to download it whilst the actual game is open !

Just happened to me. Power flashed, PS4 recovery mode, forced to redownload entire game. Susan's Ex group, see you guys in 4 hrs!

Is this gonna screw up my hot bars and settings?

This has been the worst week in my gaming history. I have cancelled my recurring sub since i don't really know when I'll be able to play again. Plus, my girlfriend is coming next week and I tried to advance something during early access. Guess I have to thank SE for everything that's gonna happen.

You are lucky, my third time downloading this, and every time it takes 24 hours... if there's no power outage or internet issues.

Tbh I am really disappointed with this issue. I am living in a country where our Internet has datacap!!! My plan on internet has only 50GB monthly allowance and this bug eats up half of my plan! Please compensate us on this issue! Even if this issue will be resolve, I am still unable to play this game for the whole complete month!

I took a day off this Friday to try and catch up with leveling after the last days' issues.

Got a powercut this morning around 10am and now I have to re-DL this for the 5th time this week. It will take 9 hours so my day off is wasted.

I'm upset by all this incompetence. It was supposed to be fixed. Thanks God you SE/Sony guys are not working for air traffic control or something. It would suck flying with you. Stick with video games as it looks like you would be dangerous in more serious jobs.

This is ridiculous... 5 days have passed and nothing. This is the 5th time I have done this, thank God I'm currently reading a book. I live in the Dominican Republic, here the power goes out every other day. I can't keep doing this!. I love this game and was really looking forward to the samurai job. But if this keeps up, I might as well cancel my subscription.

I can get an UPS but i can only put my PS4 on it, not the router (which is in another room).

Do you guys know if the issue still occurs if only the network access is lost?

Finally got to the point where I only needed 3gb left to download but now every time I try to download I get an error [205120][25008]. This really is the worst gaming experience I've ever had.

I cant talk for others, but where I live we have around 106°F / 42°C during daytime and the power grid is under pressure due to massive use of air conditioning. Usually, powercuts are pretty rare here ( one or two per year ) but since the middle of June we are experiencing a lot of them.

It looks like the DL is not able to finish. Mine just slows down dramatically over time. Can anyone confirm that the DLs are still able to finish correctly please? Otherwise it's over I guess.

I left my download going overnight and woke up to the "play" button this morning (actually logging in as we speak). Before i went to bed, i had alot of drops in my mbps per second, with anywhere from like 1.4mbps and below, i think the lowest being .02mbps. Total, probably about 8 hours of straight downloading and everything seems to be fine so far.

This just happened to me too after a storm last night,. How in the world does it think I need an update when I was already playing!!! SE please fix this now!!!!

This is the crapiest launch ever from SE!!

My power is not going off but my ps4 has been crashing in 5 minutes every time i turn it on,works fine the second boot up. Before stormblood i could just relog and keep playing. Now its wanting me to download the 22gbs every time i turn my ps4 on. Every time iv redownloaded (3 times now 66gb) i could login and play but after shutting down it redownloads.

since they posted an announcement saying that you just need to update the console I don't think SE is working on it anymore. because if they aren't they are going to lose a lot of players

They have said they are continuing to work on this issue yesterday after the uupdate also.

The dev/ccommunity rep was a 3-6 pages ago I think.

95 minutes of DL left then I can shut the system down and plug my new UPS and start playing SB.

Same thing just happened to me. I had a power outage (thanks to my country's crappy energy service company and yes, I am considering getting a generator because this is starting to get on my nerves, but I still can't buy one right now) and now my PS4 is redownloading 22GB worth of patches for FFXIV. I had power outtages before but that's the first time the game had to redownload from scratch because of that.

Our power just cut out and it happened to me too. Our internet isn't too shitty so I wont be waiting for too long but it's still a horrible problem. Hope it gets fixed soon.

Do not erase the game! Or you'll install 11gb apart from the 22.7gb of hell and it won't fix anything. Believe me, I did it. I have downloaded the game but I have cancelled my sub and haven't played again until they fix this problem. I'm not wasting money on a UPS either since I've herd this happens even if you disconnect from the game. Don't know if it's true though.
