It sounded like normally it wouldn't take a long time, but they said, "A large number of players are expected to make use of the World Transfer Service during this free period. As a result, transfers may require several days before processing is complete."

Also, SE said you couldn't log in to other characters under the same service account while one is being transferred. (source) (Most people have only one service account.)

and "A" world is in the crowded list, can i exchange these characters data center?

"Active" meaning logging in. If you snooze you loose basically. It will eliminate placeholder toons taking up names.

If the transfers take longer than a day ill be pissed and just unsub, it shouldn't be hard. I know some other mmos that can get it done in an hour or less.

EDIT: and I know they said A LOT of people want to use the free world transfer so they should ANTICIPATE that and be ready to take care of everyone that wants the world transfer right away.

So, your idea is to take away stuff that I have acquired AFTER the release of ARR? I did play in 1.0, got pld to 41, but stopped. I only recently even leveled it again. The Jobs I have at 50 now were a result of efforts after the relaunch.

Tomorrow expect the forums to be flooded with people pissed about not being able to play their character for a couple days cause of transfer congestion. I guess its transfer at your own risk and if you do you may not be playing for a bit.

As for legacy people or people on legacy servers not being able to transfer this was stated many different times. If you are indeed legacy you will just have to wait. If you are someone who could only join a legacy server at launch you should have read up and waited. I had to wait a few days to get a non legacy server but it was better then waiting 6ish months to transfer off of one.

Major threats Nox. I'm sure they'll do it asap now.

still no news about the transfer service, and its already 4.00 a.m (PDT) right..

I was wondering a bit about this because even if it's only 4 AM in the US, it's actually 9PM in Japan. That means that the launch window of Oct. 15 has almost passed over there. Unless they have opened the service for Japanese servers only atm.

i shouldn't be shocked. the devs were suspiciously absent
on monday without a single word or update. i somehow
managed to squeeze a little more patience out of my well
to see if SE could, at the very least, get server transfers up
by the 15th...and what do i find? a maintenance that was

i blame myself for believing that SE would be able to execute
this in a prompt and efficient manner. instead, i should just

It's Oct. 15 wth man!! It looks like the loadstone was updated but not the mog station! Godsdammit SE what are you guys doing!! I remember them saying 'pending no major issues', I'm guessing a major issue came up and they just don't want to say anything in fear of community reprisal.

Untrue. No one has ever, EVER been able to provide a link to an official comment that stated 1.0 characters would not be able to transfer off Legacy servers. I have been searching for one ever since launch. There was much speculation around the issue, with people saying it could be 6 months to a year before it'll be made possible, but I challenge you (or anyone for that matter) to prove that it was officially stated in any shape or form.

At this point, they should just own it and give every EA player the opportunity for free transfers, regardless of when they apply. Because this is beyond ridiculous at this point.

Seems everything they do compounds previous problems and creates an even bigger charlie foxtrot. Some serious mis-management and severe incompetence going on at SE... which makes me sad, because I love this game more than I have most games I have played in the past ten years. But the terrible management decisions and piss-poor communication from the team at SE thus far have me wondering how long it will be able to remain viable.

Regardless... even if that was the official party line, things change. Circumstances have screwed a lot of people over, and SE know this, which is why they have allowed free transfers for five days as way of apology. So why cater to one group of affected players, but not those with 1.0 characters? It's unfair, and the reason for the current restriction is a complete joke. Justification of this opinion has been laid out numerous times by lots of people so I really shouldn't have to spell it out again. There is no reasonable counter-argument that I have seen which could explain why SE are sticking to this decision. It is incomprehendable.

I wonder if we all send them a bunch of calendars and watches, they might get the hint that we don't wait gracefully.

Yep. And it's currently after 2pm GMT.

They needed an entire extra month to give us transfers and still can't get it done on time.

For shame, SE.

It is just sheer incompetence not having transfers up already. Specially if they announced we'd be on a line without being able to log in.
And I always thought japoneses were far more organised than westerns... I guess I was wrong.
