You need 347 Craftsmanship to make a Darksteel Ingot. With 347 Craftsmanship, you will get to one synth away from completion in five steps. Piece By Piece > Synth, Synth, Synth, Synth. By my maths you'll be one standard synthesis away from completion. Thus, you'll have 30 durability left and enough CP to Master's Mend II. From there on it's tricky, but I could quite easily reach 20-30% HQ without other class abilities.

Not saying that proves anyone right or wrong but as a very experienced crafter your incorrect assumption stood out like a sore thumb.

Have you done much crafting? You don't seem to have a very good grasp on the fundamentals.

1)You do not need food to attempt the craft.....also I never said you didn't have to use cross class skill. I said you didn't have to have all crafts max at 50. It took me two nights to go from 1-35 armorer so the majority of abilities are within reach with a little effort.

2)What use is gil if you aren't going to spend it? It's just a number on your screen. And while you might question my "good sense" I will question your at running the stupid dungeon over and over. I made HQ items and put them on the AH and used the money to buy mats and materia for ilvl 70 and have a full hq vanya set (minus the pants). I promise you I spent less time crafting and making gil for my ilvl 70 and than the majority of people who ran dungeons.

I'm rocking 3/3 Heavy Darksteel for my Paladin. It's better than Darklight and I can dye it. I wasn't aware I could figure out how to call Gamemako's bluff with cross class in mind. In that case, throw in Tricks of the Trade from 15 Alchemist and Rumination from 15 Carpenter and you'll find you can raise your quality much higher. If people can't even be bothered to level those two to 15 then frankly they have no business complaining on the forums that a crafting job is useless.

I am 99.99% sure I would surpass 10% HQ using just Armorer skills making any of the items requiring Darksteel Ingots. I am unfortunately not willing to spend the money needed to find out for the sake of it. I am genuinely perplexed at your crafting ability if you believe 10% to be so far out of reach.

Also, you can get Coke on the Wards. That was his entire point; he can just buy it rather than farm the dungeon.

I don't know why you guys started talking about this, but the ease of HQing because you came into ARR with all classes leveled, and the fact that you probably had loads of G4 materia to burn is irrelevant. With JUST ARMORORER LEVELED UP, you will be stupidly lucky to HQ anything, and they greatly increased the time it takes to spiritbond gear, and G4 Materia is very rarely created and only from ilvl55 stuff or ilvl70 stuff if you actually go SB that in the coil.

An all-level50 crafter like us can just 100% HQ 2star recipes from all NQ mats, one-class crafter cannot do that, plain and simple. Both you and kamaru have Legacy shades on and are in denial, especially if you intend to justify this retarded change.

What you need to do is get off of that one-knee, and go do coil with someone. If you aren't cooking food or making some potions, you're wasting your time. Ive already replaced my Heavy darksteel chest. Would have done it 3rd week if I wasn't wasting my damn time crafting.

ilvl70 will get replaced by ilvl90 at the rate YOU do the content. Some people are well on their way to full ilvl90, and never touched one of these damn crafted items. Of course if you sit around wasting your time crafting BS all day, you'll never get around to replacing it and you'll think its the best of the best gear. But, you can continue to think its the best gear and won't get replaced in a decent amount of time if you wish, and you can continue wasting your time grinding dungeons for mats if that is what you are doing. They are plenty of players being far more intelligent about what they do with their time in ARR, the ones that can see the error and imbalance right in front of their faces.

Actually, you should go try to craft a 2-star recipe using only 1 classes skills. Please post a picture of what you got without getting any excellents. Actually prefer you make a video, to avoid doctored pictures. Even making 100% HQ from NQ takes use of many cross class skills and LUCK, but with 1 class you have little chance of getting past 10%.

Nobody is saying to try and HQ 1/2 star gear with just one crafting class. What's being pointed out is that its easy to level crafting at the lower levels and gain access to a lot of abilities that will give you a high chance of success. Are the legacy blinders I'm wearing the same ones that let you run coil after 3 weeks to replace ilvl 70? I'm not saying it's not possible but in general it's not happening on fresh servers, just like how you are arguing for crafters on new servers.

Again, I promise you that I spent less time crafting for gil to make my ilvl 70 with materia than you did in those dungeons for your darklight. Even if I had to level up an entire crafting job to make it myself at the end I still got something out of my time spent (a level 50 crafting job). You will have nothing to show for the time you spent in those dungeons. I've also mentioned how good this gear is for secondary roles going into CoB. If you are a DRG I don't think you'll be seeing any healing/tank gear before the primary tanks/healers, and that's assuming the piece drops.

You must not know, but people on new servers are already clearing the coil, in darklight plus the ilvl90 gear they obtained in the first few turns. I believe I posted that with a link in this thread, so its painfully obvious you ignored the rest of the thread, and probably don't even know what this thread is about since you keep going off into other things. You should keep up with the times, and realize no one, not even you, especially on new servers, needs to waste their time trying to craft these because of their costs. Having left over materials from 1.0 was a nice skip past having to grind for darklight, but without that you are wasting your time. I think its time you woke up and realized that.

Also, I'm quite sure Selene was trying to say you could easily HQ 2 star gear with just 1 class, or did you ignore that too...
