Hit the nail on the head. It's exposed a pretty ugly side of the community, and I'll tell you right now I'm not talking about the healers who are choosing to strike. I'm shocked at just how much vitriol and pushback the mere IDEA that there could be less healers queuing in Dawntrail is getting. I've seen some people telling healers they would have respected the ideas behind the strike if they only 'acted calm and civil'. ...It's text on the internet, and the actual topic lays it out pretty concisely, so I don't know how much more calm you need.

Oh wait.. it's probably just seeing the word 'strike' and having a knee-jerk reaction over how those pesky healers might inconvenience THEM. The nerve.

I’m like not even mad he read one of my comments on his stream, sighed and then called us all idiots I’m just kinda shocked that someone who is a square enix approved content creator by being constantly invited to the media tours can just be that……….dismissive. Calling healers functional NPC’s just there to fill queues is like next level garbage and I’m used to garbage takes by him. Happy was also way more dismissive than I’m used to him being on issues, the idea of “these problems that have existed since ShB have existed since ShB” is somehow a dismissive statement by these creators is just pathetic

There is a reason why there is no real healer main content creators in this game and their complete lack of presence at the media tour just exasperates these horrid takes by the DPS mains

Game websites are a better alternative for sqare enix's marketing and overall promotion. I doubt these streamers are good ambassadors for square enix; not with those types of comments, that's for sure.

Are you referring to when he read the post and had no counter argument and his chat spammed an emote like the brainless chicken that they are? Lmao. He goes on minutes later to say that Yoshi P has said he has taken too much feedback and he wants devs to do their own thing. Arthars agrees they've listened to raider feedback too much. To me that sounds like he agrees with the strike, because healers (like all jobs now since BLM has fallen) are all victims of raider feedback. Yet another critic who ends up restating the problems of the strike while disowning it.

He's also seemingly another stupid one who is obsessed with the thread creators credentials..Gemina compiled the info from people of all experience levels.

Shout out to the two or so viewers in chat who acknowledged playing hard content doesn't change the fact that healer dps is 1spam and that it wouldn't hurt to just give a few extra dps options to healers.

Be very careful throwing stones there. Most raider-centric communities have heavily echoed that healing is not engaging and current healer-tank design is causing a number of problems in high end fights. (Namely, endless instant death mechanics and body checks - both things a lot of raiders at all skill levels aren't particularly fond of. Doubly so when a death mechanic may not be your fault at all!

Most raiding communities are also wildly up in arms over the new BLM mechanics as it kills nonstandard black mage. A class a lot of raiders respected and liked for its complexity and build options.

We're just as unhappy as the non-raiders here, and I personally won't be queued as a healer in DT. I'll likely only run SCH for premade groups.

Um there is a way but I did it so many years ago I dont remember how. I went to the "Site in question" and found out how there then put what was needed in my profile here on the sqex site and boom done.

same for the people I know. my static is trying to determine roles for the next tier, and literally nobody wants to heal, compared to having 4 people fighting over it in shb. I healed the last tier, and I have zero interest in healing another savage fight in the future. I used to always play healer in df because I hate not having control over whether my party wipes and having long queue times, but atp I'm just going to do trusts for dt because I'm really tired of pressing dosis/glare

I can't think of any instances where outright dismissals of customer feedback are beneficial for a company. Are you suggesting that SE wants influencers to promote the claim that they're 'rejecting' player feedback and don't want to hear it?

I would have thought that the PR line would be:

• they're still in the process of refining the numbers for the next expansion while taking into account player feedback
• nobody really knows what the launch experience is going to be like but it looks pretty hype
• we'll have to wait and see

From a design standpoint, SE does almost all of their stealth nerfs during expansion transitions. With all the discussion that's taken place, I wouldn't be surprised to see some quiet tuning being made in the background to create a shift in viewpoint. Like what happens if you try out a healerless pull in the first dungeon and discover that Bloodwhetting's heal only applies once per weaponskill, as per the actual tooltip? Or you try to solo a boss on WAR and find it tuned to outdamage your self-healing? What happens if 1W3D falls completely flat on launch?

There are plenty of surprises that a developer could quietly setup to take a lot of steam out of this building frustration, and then follow up with a 'by the way, we read your threads, and there's more changes yet to come' accompanied by a quiet smile on the follow-up live letter. Could you imagine the reaction that would have? You would instantly flip over all that frustration into hype, Reversi style. This type of strategy is what makes them really good on the PR side of things.

What I don't really get is why an influencer would go out of their way sabotage that PR line by claiming that Yoshi-p 'hates feedback' and implying that the team has active disdain for the playerbase. And I think the answer to that partially comes down to individual motivations for participating.

There are some more professionally-minded content creators who naturally see media tour events as a means of enhancing the view counts of their videos through the exclusivity of the material, because they're looking at the business end of it. For example, this job video from the tour is so slick and professionally done that SE could easily hire the creator to put together a job trailer for them (and SE should outright hire them, the next time a job action trailer is needed). This is gold dust.

On the other end, you have some 'influencers' who are effectively just standard-issue PF raiders who happen to run a stream in the background (you might say that this is the 'duty support equivalent' for content creation). And it's less about getting out a good video as it is about the perception of clout by 'being buddies' with the dev team. So you have to ask yourself if it's sensible to have such people representing the company when you know that they will overstep their bounds and deride the playerbase off of that boost. I think it just comes down to running brand choices that are a good fit for your desired company image.

Just don't watch their content to be fair, most are only click baiting or doing drama for the views. You have to understand (which I am sure you all do) that the majority of content creators do this for the views not for any real "love" of a specific role in general.
