Machinist needs help.

From now on ima make this the megathread, but all of MCH issues have been addressed and EW added so few skills to MCH that people will just end up recycling the same old thing, or complain Crown is useless and confusing that they added a ghost skill.

I’m all for debates but I don’t tolerate this type of hyperbole of exaggeration that comes and goes in the forums of people blowing things out of proportion because they read one comment.

On that note is it a unique point of the MCH kit that has no faults? So much so that it should remain the same for another 2 years? Probably not and if you say yes then we can agree to disagree and I can talk to people that are willing to enhance the job than to let it rot

They've explicitly said they look at long, robust threads with lots of discussion for feedback. But MCH doesn't have this.

Searching for MCH threads I see almost none of them have double digit page counts, and the ones that do barely get over that.
Yeah, no, that isn't enough feedback.
And what's more, it's very scattered and difficult to track down, let alone sift through.

Sccraps of discussions don't make it to them.
People aren't asking them directly about MCH during Q&A.
Everything we have points to "yeah, they literally haven't seen our feedback."

If you wanna change that, if you wanna be heard, centralize your discussion with a megathread and stay constructive and on topic.

Otherwise you have no reason to complain that you aren't being heard when you're not taking the steps they've asked of you.

Sorry for asking but how can we make a mega thread on machinist? if that helps il help too :D i just wish yoshi p to look for our ideas on a gunner class should be a and a class that handles machines is separated, i know this is a bother but is one of my dreams in the game i just like blasting people with bullets but not with machines :(

By the community picking one thread to centralize the discussion in.
A megathread is just that.

It doesn't need to have the word "Megathread" in the title, as a community could decide to centralize the discussion anywhere. At the top of this page, for example, Jirah is pushing to turn this thread into the center of the MCH conversation going forward.

I noticed something.

Why all 3 ranged have a lv88 trait "Enhanced Tactician/Samba/Troubadour" but none of the melees/casters get a trait to generalize Feint/Addle mitigation?

I mean, at least it's not enhanced unmend /s.

But yeah, it feels very uninspired as it feels like we need to be lvl 88 to get something on the lvl of addle (because let's be real, we nearly only use tactician for aoes and they are magical anyway)

And the advantage of not needing a target is virtually inexistant as very hard hitting aoes are always during a phase where the boss is targetable (and there's only one boss).
Felt like they had no inspiration and just went "let's make it a trait to get the job done with this slot".

But at least it's not enhanced unmend.

If I were to guess...
Yoshi P has mentioned before that players weren't using Addle very much.
Next expac addle got a buff.

I wonder if they're not also seeing low usage for Tactician/Samba/Troubadour and buffing it like they did addle.
Kinda weird that addle just got better but this is improved through a trait though...

High level traits are intended to adjust actions to make use of them in higher level content, but not lower level content.

Across the board fixes are generally about playability, not necessarily power. For example, Aspect Mastery is largely a playability buff, though you'll probably see a general numbers improvement at lower skill levels just because of the way it works.

This is the same thinking as the Tank "Melee Mastery" traits, which are there to increase a tank's relative potency moving forward from that point, without increasing their power before that point.

Melee mastery makes sense, we've seen how UCOB and UWU "suffered" and their DPS check just got snapped.
But this is why I've been comparing it to Addle and more specifically Feint.

Feint has been niche for a long time, no raidwide was on magic damage except... A10S? That's the only one that comes to mind.
Now it's effective against every raidwide, every source of damage. Not on equal ground, weaker against magical but still effective.
And since it's not a trait, it's a mitigation that now works in every content regardless of the level against magic damage.

But Tactician&Co needs a trait? If it was to add a charge, okay. But reduce its cooldown by a mere 30s does it needs a trait?
Meanwhile Feint is now effective in every content? In ultimate, one more magical mitigation helps a lot.
