Justify it however you want to the GM when u end up in jail for afk. And besides, you are not punishing me, all you do is upset people like yourself who are wanting the speedy runs. I could care less.
Not having a healer can be a pain hence I always take cures with me when I go as dps, I suggest you do the same. Because I have never belligerently refused to play because nobody was healing me. Sounds like you are worse than me! :D

In a stacked group man you can blow through DR in 15 mind. My best time is just under 17 minutes, and that was with us making mistakes and being sloppy.

Also man it is not that rigid sure for the first few runs it might be rigid but after that once people get to know you and stuff it is pretty easy to get a group whenever especially if you use discord.

It just makes no sense why people that dislike the content are so dead set on taking the longest path to the end goal. Not mad just makes no sense hate the content but I pick the path that results in me having to do said content for longer.

DF is mainly about convenience, I agree that PF speed runs and statics are more efficient. All I'm really saying is that farming is less efficient than just running DR for every individual involved IF you're using duty finder. That's the reality of how SE designed this content, so I don't understand why anyone would expect you to farm essences for duty finder.

The people who refuse to farm essences aren't the ones who are complaining that DR takes too long, though. They likely just don't like the Bozja overworld and/or don't like farming trash mobs.

I like farming them. But it is often hard to find a party. And farming alone is less than ideal...

But what I don't like is spending the time and farming and then getting screwed over by RNG when I - again - don't get the right essences afterwards...

And what I really don't like is the general design of the content. Why do I have to farm these essences in the first place? Why is the content balanced with them in mind? What purpose has this entry barrier? Why do I need to grind essences just to be able to grind Delubrum?
And why does the DF not have fixed roles like everywhere else? Why can't we just switch roles inside? Why do I have to use essences and lost actions to turn my DD class into a healer instead of just pressing a button and switch to WHM?

It is just stupid.

It's just a lazy way to prolong the content by creating a non-rewarding feedback loop.

It's like if every time you ran an Expert Roulette it destroyed a piece of your gear and forced you to buy/craft a replacement. On the surface, from SE's perspective, it seems like a win/win, because it causes a feedback loop that uses roulettes to stimulate the economy, engage crafters and move gil. Most players will see it for the manipulative, non-rewarding time sink it is, though, and basically just start queuing up with the cheapest, crappiest gear they can get away with.

I try to stay more polite than I can, even if this post doesn’t deserve politeness.
First of all:
Assuming It’s my first run in DR, if I’m not using your blessed actions, am I trolling you?
Assuming it’s not my habit grind your trusted actions neither Gill to buy them, am I trolling you?
Assuming I’m not interest in DR and relic farms but this day I joined my fellows party for a friendly run and I don’t have your supercalifragilistic actions or I don’t want to use them, am I trolling you?

For what I’ve read, this post is an useless and childish player’s complaint that sold his last two braincells for a small amount of dps.
But, as I said before I want to stay more polite than I can so here my advises:

1) Stand in front of the mirror. Watch yourself. Take an huge breath and repeat several times: “My life doesn’t change if a DR lasts 40 mins or 15 mins nor someone else.
2) after one hour of gaming take a break. Prepare some coffee. Drink it slowly and while tasting its flavour repeat this in your head: “I’m playing FFXIV to have fun, not to complain everything others may do”.
3) When you are seeing your parses and your analyses keep in mind: “My parses maybe good enough to be considered a “”””””pro”””””” but all these numbers are useful if I am a child”.
4) If you wrote this, it’s legit to think that you use a dps meter, a third program, to track down all the damage that all 48 players do, unless you target all the 48 players and watch player by player which fabulous actions they activated (if so, probably your DR last more than 15 mins because of you are not pressing your buttons).
I want to remember to you that using a third party program is strictly forbidden by SE’s ToS to avoid harassment and other malevolent behaviours. Writing a post who can be read as an harassment by some one like me, who “is trolling you because I never use any actions”, in a public official SE’s forum isn’t wise.
So, this is my final advise, sir. Enjoy your experience in the way you have fun. Don’t complain others playing, take a break if you feel nervous about something and keep in mind that out there nobody cares how long your last DR lasts. If you got frustrated for a game, you will get the same in real life...try to work on this.

I've never gone out of my way to grind or buy fragments for essences or lost actions, and I have a huge supply of Essence of the Martialist, which is all you ever need as a tank. So I don't really think there's much excuse for not having something.
Sure there are some essences I'm running low on, I wish I had more Deep Bloodsucker to make soloing Zadnor a bit easier, but that's not necessary for DR.
I'm not sure what it's like for DPS/Healers because I always queue as tank (the one time I queued as MCH, there were no tanks in the instance...) but I'm sure there must be something relatively common that will be useful.

It makes a notable difference when nobody in the instance is using an essence, all those +40-70% damage buffs really add up, and can turn a fun 30 minute raid into a 60 minute chore.

Your attitude just shows you are belligerent. Using cures to keep yourself up without a healer is so easy, you can weave them in between gcds. Your entire post just shows how much of a child you are in actions and attitude. You are calling others dead weight when you willingly and purposefully afk as means to punish people you don't like. You aren't going to get banned for AFK. Just don't say you are 'choosing' not to play in chat. You can even make it thematic, and say you had an "emergency", or some other nonsense. That's the state of the game.
