Im for real pvp not this fake pvp with claimbots
At the very least it'd really make the open world more interesting.
You do realize that no where in your post did you prove ( or even give examples.. ) of how XI "was easy". You even then tried to claim that Ifrit was hard (barring latency that fight has always been a cakewalk..) as your point of reference for future 'hard' content in XIV? Somehow claiming you had an active account for 7 years, to you, means everything you say must be true and every other arugement is moot? Yeah OK.. Got it. I'ma have to move on now.
I would love to see 3-8 day pop times for wyrm-like NMs. Naturally, this will never happen. Most of the player base would go nuts if anything like that was ever implemented again. I have no idea why people are so opposed to hardcore players having a little content to obsess over.
One idea that might eliminate the need for bots would be to make access to certain NMs contingent on who beats a certain prereq encounter fastest. Now, this idea has hardly been fleshed out, so bear with me. Imagine an NM protected on various sides by a high level mob or mobs. So let's say there are 8 access points to the HNM, each guarded by the same mob(s). There would be one group per access point. Whoever kills fastest, gets access to the HNM. Ideally, this would require 18 player alliances so as to prevent Linkshells from attempting to send groups to as many access points as their membership will permit.
Like I said, this idea has not been fleshed out or totally thought through, so you won't have achieved anything if you are able to shoot holes in it. It's just a thought and may lead to some discussion.
Hey hey hey, an idea! I think its a genuinely good one at that.
But the one roadblock I'm sure we will hit in the next page or two, and the XIV players who will cry foul because your idea promotes competition. They want nothing to do with competition, and want everything handed to them in an instanced zone where no one can impede upon their success.
We are getting need before greed in 2.0 supposedly or something very similar.
Hasn't FF11 moved away from open world bosses though since Abyssea's what makes you think Yoshi-p would bring it to FFXIV when FFXI doesn't even utilise that kind of content any more.
Mwah ho ho ho
Pot kettle black springs to mind.
