That wouldn't be an issue so no.

Feel free to block me then. The truth of the matter is, no matter what you say, no matter what you do, SE isn't going to pander to you or anyone else right now until the server issue is fixed. There is no increasing sizes, there is no inviting players to the server, there is no combining other servers and forcing issues with the players in those original servers. You said you're not looking for a debate, but that only implied if you got to hear what you wanted to hear. You've been nothing but argumentative to everyone in this thread telling you the same exact thing.
SE isn't going to lift the lock because people want them too. In fact, that's all the more reason to keep the lock on until the hype for the server dwindles. You're not going to get anywhere with your demands and suggestions.
If you got the idea of me targeting your server with the intent to upset you I apologize as that wasn't my goal. My goal was simply to come up with quick ideas without thinking much. I was on your server didn't mind it much minus the large group of toxic people that for whatever reason were there but that isn't the topic.
There are some problems with these ideas:
- This would help only a limited number of people on Balmung, while still undoing a lot of population balancing that has already been accomplished. The friends invited also have friends and some people have multiple friends, so this does not solve the issue of people not being able to play with friends. I can also imagine a reddit thread or few appearing for trading invite codes, ensuring it isn't friends alone who end up overcrowding the server again. In the end this method would allow the server to double in active population, which would make Balmung bigger than it has ever been. This would have an adverse effect on the stability of the data center and the health of smaller worlds where those invited friends would be pulled from.
- Merging servers would have a catastrophic effect on those who own housing. It was already tried on the Chinese/Korean (I forgot which) servers and the people on those servers had their houses taken away by force. This is a far worse situation than locking big servers and allowing people the free choice to give up their house and move out.
The way SE is handling player populations right now is just the best and fairest way, even though it isn't perfect. They are planning to make linkshells cross-world, and possibly other cross-world features as well, so that people will have more ways to play with their friends on other servers. Cross-world PF and private parties were a huge step towards this goal.
Apology accepted.
The biggest problem is you keep calling things dead servers when NA no longer has any such thing. Our populations are huge in comparison to the JP servers. It just seems like it because what we did have were massive population swings. At one point Balmung had a 5:1 ratio on Mateus (our tiniest server). Then they locked Balmung and Greg and suddenly a diaspora occurred and every other server had a population benefit. But it still hasn't been enough. This why an upgrade won't be helpful because all you'll see is the population swings in action again. People will desert the smaller servers all trying to crowd back on to Balmung again and then...the cycle will repeat.
