I am tired of being the hero (aka the chosen one)

The only thing I dislike about the whole chosen one thing is that they never do anything interesting with it.
Like wouldn't it be cool if at the beginning of SB the Ala Mhigans were like "oh wow, you brought the Warrior of Light? Guess what little peace we had left is going to end soon..." or after the attack on Rhalgr's Reach have the others be all "well, we only really wanted you here because we thought you could beat Zenos but it seems like you've been more trouble than you're worth, maybe you should go away". That would give the WoL some much-needed motivation since for the most part it seems like the only reason we're helping Ala Mhigo is because everyone expects us to.

That's not true either. If we're not there, other Scion will take our place. We went to SB because..

both Lyse and Raubahn decide to finally do something about it. We may have influence over their decision but ultimately it's their decision. Supporting it is no different to Alliance considering to follow through with them, we're still their friends. Any other npc with echo has same success rate as us, because the adventurers team that progress through the instances is logically the same just with a different leader. I wouldn't underestimate Urianger's preemptive prepareness or Y'shtola's determination, without them we wouldn't be able to counter artificial echo or survive Zenos first 2 fights.
