Doesn't matter, depends what you mean by hypocrite, also. Am I a hyprocrite for wanting stuff to be fair? I guess so.

This isn't ffix but ffxi had airships that took 5-10 minutes, the ferry in FFXIV takes about the same time, does it make sense for you to have something free? Might as well remove the ferry.

Yoshi P stated it was temporary so your point is moot since the scene will be implemented and since he will see there are people who dislike the idea of skipping a cut scene/ride and moving on to the main cities, then he will not add a skip option. You can skip a cut scene already btw... you should not be able to skip a ride, get over it.

Personally as riled up as I'm getting over this I think things will work out in the end. Players who want instant gratification may be setting themselves up for a big fall.

I've said before that if this efficently replaces town to town anima warps...they may phase out the need for Anima at some point. Give these people their free town warps, and then give me increased anima costs to camps to keep Chocobos relevant. But hell what do I know, there is a good chance Chocobos might turn out to be a cutscene after all is said and done.

I agree. I love taking the ferry once in a while and just enjoy the ride :-)
It's fun and even would give you the time to go to LL or Uldah and not spent 3 Anima but only 2 :-)
I hope they will do this too for the airships. That would be awesome.
If you like to skip stuff why not skip the whole game ? ^^

As far as Anima goes.. If you don't teleport every 5 steps you have to take then the anima is Plenty enough.
I play hours a day and never really have even got under 20 anima.. Cause i like..
And why start complaining now when you know this month will have Chocobo's.

The players who want instant gratification are the same players who will not stick around in the long run, I hope SE realizes this.

Also, I agree Jynx makes great posts and I generally agree with everything he/she states.

Jynx speaks truth. Also I must say I wonder how the same airship can transport some people instantly and take 5 minutes to deliver others. Forget realism, that just plain makes no sense. Everybody waits to get on the airship at the same time when it arrives and then it departs and some people are magically transported to the unloading dock while the rest wait for the airship to actually get there? Well then why did they even have to wait for the airship to arrive? Screw it let's just have Grid, LL, and Ul'dah zone into each other at that point.

They have reserve underground monorails that move at the speed of light, but thats only for the cool kids that skip the airship.

Leveling is the only time-sink we have at all, it's not about the time sink anyways it's not even really about imersion. It's about being a balanced system that makes sense. Whats the point of the instant airships in the long run? It serves no purpose other than allowing people to jump between towns that were initially spread out for a reason, this crushes any of that reason, or effort that went into creating a map that seperates the cities at all.

It's akin to having a door at the end of each city that magically connects them all, you don't travel to them, you just pop from one to the other.

Are you asking for airships to be not implemented? or for a mandatory 15 min ride? because if its the 15 min ride the only thing you are doing is adding a 15 min loading screen to this magical door that connects all the cities.
