I started out Femroe during the first PC beta and loved every bit of her. However, I went with male Miqo'te during the following ones since they were the other 'wasn't there before' option to pick from. Pretty much ran every beta since then with a maleqo'te. I especially liked the Keepers of the Moon as they seemed underrepresented by lore. I've tried other races before, but other than Maleqo'te and Femroe nothing seemed to feel right. So I'm probably going to stick with my male Miqo'te now, especially since they have the unnecessary catlike behaviour like their sitting and the claw-like way they hold their hands (seriously, how they don't cramp up, I don't know). It's odd, but I like it. The one thing that puts me off with the Au Ra is the enormous height difference between the males and the females.
I think roes and elezens look ugly. I know that's harsh, but when it comes to elezen's I'm a bit bitter. When I first saw them I was severely disappointed. Elves are suppose to be lithe and beautiful beings of the forest, but in this game they're just lanky half-giraffe's. Roes, well, I just don't like muscly men or women. They scare me.
It is all a matter of personal preference. for ME personally, the gap between Miqo'te and the other races in this game is very large. I won't go into all the reasons that I think the other races look like shit here, but to each their own, right? Whatever floats your boat!
I had a cute male elezen for my first character but my friends IRL said they wouldn't play with me if I didn't change my gender..buuutttt, after they all ditched me I went from cat girl to a catboy since they're just down right adorable.

His comment is the same for me, I play miqote, because out of all the races so far I like the way theirs looks and emotes the best. Lalas currently a close second. If Au Ra has good emotes though I'll swap probably.
When I originally played at launch, I was a femRoe, and often got compliments as being one of the best-looking characters on the server. Unfortunately, I got twice as many jabs and rude comments, and I felt like a catgirl personality suited me more, so I re-rolled over a year ago and never looked back. Their emotes, hair and face options, and appearance in a variety of specialty/glamour gear is superior to pretty much every other race in the game, IMHO.
I think female roe's and highlanders look alot better they actually look like a woman
