I have like 2 close to 3mil but that's because I sell a lot of crafting mats on the MB and SB the heck out of low level stuff as I lvl my crafting class so I have a bunch of low level materia to spare. I'm also a ridiculous hoarder so I have random things that suddenly become valuable over night.

Well, before I got to the tier IV materia stage of doing my Novus I had a little over 5 mil. After that, and buying a personal room in my FC house I ended up back below 1 mil.
Currently have a bit over 2.5 mil, but I was lucky, and found a Savage Might IV on one of my retainers, so that netted me an extra 550k. Otherwise I'd just have a little over 2m.
Though, now with the Nexus quest, I'm kinda wish I had held onto that materia. /sigh

About 27 Mil but almost all of that came from 1.23 in the form of cracked materia, I've probably sold at least 50 Savage Might IV materia that I converted from cracked materia. I make gil very slowly in ARR and the constant requirement to meld top level crafting and gathering gear, not to mention I just started on relic, is a massive drain.
My favorite way to make gil used to be gathering but they took that away as an effective source of gil and in ARR I find all the ways to make serious gil tremendously repetitive and boring, yes, even more than 1.23 gathering.

I've been saving and managed to get up to 2.2 mil, but this is the most I've ever had. I'm not good at playing the market and am still leveling up some of my DoH jobs.

ALOT. But that's because I sell runs and you can easily make 1-2+ mil a day from that.

35 million ( not joking )
planning to hit 50 mil before 2.4

Hmm... around 150k at the moment, and the most I've ever had (in ARR) was around 500k. I have all level 50 crafters, but the market on my server is catered solely for people capable of doing 3-star melds. The problem with that is there's a massive time investment required to get to that level, and a huge gil investment to boot. Neither of which I can afford at this time. I do own some of the master books, but I'm nowhere close to getting the tools.
My biggest problem is that if you're low in gil, you can't make the investments needed to get out of the rut you're left in. In order for me to craft the items worth anything, I'd need to spend a small fortune on materials and, more lucratively, materia to get my equipment up to standard. Having tried to spiritbond my own materia, I gave up after countless elemental materias showed me spending more than I was earning. The matera 'merging' is about as useful as a chocolate fireguard.
Still, some of us have to remain poor otherwise the rich wouldn't be able to be rich in the first instance. After all, someone has to BUY the stuff they put up for sale in order for them to earn it in the first place. If we were all rich, the economy wouldn't exist.
