And you think that's not much? A few hours a DAY? so everyday? Do you have a girlfriend? Do you make sport? Do you have any hobbies? Because lucky me has all three, and that's why I had to stop raiding because I couldn't game every day a few hours.
How would you know this if no one has beaten the fight? Your own argument works against you for example...
So someone walked in and wiped at 90% and said the mechanics are the same from 100% to dead? What about a phase change at 20%? or 40%?
Besides making sport.. whatever that is.
Personally I don't play a few hours a day there's no point but.... Easily?
Ignoring the fact that your wife/girlfriend/whatever likely works slightly different hours than you and has you know... her own life. there are prolly a couple hours outside of work you aren't attached at the hip anyway.
So your day is something like 17-18 waking hours. And to average it out across a week will say you work 6 hours a day (coming to 42 hours)
So you have 11-12 hours left per day.
Hang out with friends, cut the grass, work on the car husk you have in the back yard etc... Say that is another 3 hours a day (which is likely higher than average)
8-9 left per day.
Spend 5 hours with the wife/girlfriend/whatever..
3-4 hours left. <<<<<<<
The fact that you can't play a few hours every day is irrelevant as plenty of people with everything you listed still manage to play a few hours on a daily basis. A lot of raiders will play between 10-12 hours per week which is less than 2 hours a day. Also for your personal enlightenment, video game is as much a hobby as someone playing football with their friends or someone working on cars and girlfriend nowadays quite often play video game with their significant others.
Welcome to the year 2014 buddy, I suggest you exit the late '90s mentality and join the rest of us.

That took 2 minutes to find. Actually searching for your information before you make a statement goes a long way to prove you know what you're talking about.
You're welcome.
Sorry man but I have a wife, more hobbies than I can count, I workout everyday for at least an hour and a job that has me working 50-60 hours a week and I raided in this game without issue for most of the time it has been out.
The only reason I quit was my job hours changed slightly and I couldn't make existing raid times. Instead of finding a new static I just decided to see the other content in the game. In other words I could raid and have a life too.
Raiding in this game is such a low time commitment it isn't even funny. Sure if you want to do all other content in this game AND raid then you'll spend more time but the adage of raiding = no life does not automatically apply...
While I agree with you, it needs to be done in a certain way. Simply expanding an area doesn't serve much purpose without reason to do so. Currently, there really isn't much reason to do so. The current maps are actually not THAT small... they just feel that way because there's no reason to venture to at least half of it. Some areas would certain get away with being a little larger, North Shroud and Mor Dhona comes to mind on that, but others are just large with pointless mobs around. A perfect example would be Coerthas. The entire lower half serves little to no point currently, at least not to the degree that they couldn't just move certain things to other pointless/unused northern spots of the map. The exception is the Gigas spot in the lower left part, as I'm going to assume it will play a larger role... but that still leaves a huge chunk of the southern area unused.
What they need to do is introduce things to the current maps. Higher level mobs that we aren't intended to be able to solo, events that serve some sort of semi-progression result (think of a FATE that surrounds a side town that is under attack by beastmen, but rewards a bit of Myth/seals/etc), etc. Ideally, in the case of easy to add events, something similar to how Besieged and Campaign battles worked in FFXI with familiar NPCs coming to help the cause. Imagine fighting alongside any of the Scions or class/job quest NPCs sort of thing. Just do something that gives the current world life. Expand it only where it might be needed, but develop upon what is currently there.
Does that look like less then 2h of content for the whole savage coil that anyone could beat, like the guy i was answering to was stating?
I dint say it wasnt possible, i just dint hear of any group doing it. But the fact less then 5% of the already less then 5% of the playerbase who beat t9 actually cleared the first turn of the savage coil doesnt seem too much of a disapointement, especially considering most of the mechanics are similar.
Man I need your schedule. I'm up at 5am for work at 7:30 off at 5:00 home around 6:00, dinner, taking care of errands / chores, I *might* get in the game by 8pm and play till 9:30 when I go to bed (I like sleep). The weekends are more bearable, but I spend a lot of that time catching up around the house, grocery, errands, etc. Basically: SCoB is not accessible to me, and I'm much more okay with that now that 2.3 is out and built for carebears like myself :) I might get above i100 now!
I never agreed with the person that said people had it cleared within 2 hours. You ask for proof of people beating Savage T6, I gave it to you.
I agree with you that the greater goal is important but let's be honest, the content disparity as of 2.3 is greatly in favor of the casual player base and not by a little. End game raiders have 1 end game instance to do which is the SCoB. Syrcus Tower isn't really raiding content seeing as to how it can easily be cleared in under and hour with a full pug group and any decent PF group can clear all the extremes extremely quick, one can't really consider that as end game raiding either.
Raiders are just asking for a little more progression to do, not near the same amount of content that casual seems to get.
