[dev10??] Please allow Teleportation only at an Aetheryte

Nothing about forcing a certain way of playing on players, but it could wind up a gimp and possibly broken method of obtaining new camps/ areas. For example, an area that was meant to be difficult to obtain could be jumped to which would lead to the over abuse of the system. The jump tele feature isn't the problem, it's the non limited option players have when back-packing on other players warps.

Honestly I felt the game was broken when within the 1st hour of XIV somebody teleported me to aerythes I had never been to before. Way to take away the feeling of discovery guys.

Honestly it boggles my mind how a design decision like this gets past sensible people working on the project.

Just like in FFXI you needed to visit the locations before you could back-pack off someone's warp/tele. That method needs to continue, or else you will have players abusing an already faulty system ><

What they COULD do, and I don't normally like to use the ideas from other MMO's because I'd like SE to do their own thing, BUT -

Guild Wars 2 is going to have a Fast Travel system as well, which is actually free to do. However, they're going to give incentive to players to run there because you get some sort of bonus for exploring and walking/running to where you want to go (Not sure of the bonuses yet). Now, I'm sure you have to have been there first, but it gives people the choice, as well as the incentive to do some adventuring.

While I hope FFXIV stops using the Anima system, IF they keep it I'd like to see some incentive given to adventurers to travel there instead of teleport.

without a doubt they need to make it so you have to personally reach the crystal first befor you can teleport there. it ruins the games adventuring. other then that fak off they need to make porting after the first time easier not harder. they need get rid of anima all together, why sit on a fricken boat afk for 10mins waiting rather then instant, i don't want to fish or kill useless mobs on it. i go and make coffee or watch tv. whats the point. add boats to get places first time cross overs, fill them with hoards of mobs so it's more for sp or items/gear if anything.

you dudes are looking for something less then a game, it's called aol chat rooms, go try them out this is a mmo that needs game content not time waisted running around. /em takes your diaper and plops it on your head.

Dear SE,

Do nothing at this point until you implement a better set of transportation options other than the only one currently available to us (ie. teleporting). Anything you do to adjust the teleport system prior to implementing real alternatives would be idiotic. It's as good as it needs to be for what it is at this point, short of arguments about +/- anima recharge rates or maximum amounts at any given time.

Any adjustment other than giving people more anima or a faster anima recharge would make the system worse.

edit: never mind, you put it in the game, live with it. Don't touch it, it isn't broken.

On the contrary we are looking for more to do in the game, more ways to be immersed in it.

What?! Please dude. Yes it is. If SE had made it this way, we would be complaining about there is nothing to do WHILE we are traveling to an Aetheryte.

Then this topic would be ...
"Give us something to do while running to an Aetheryte"

More immersion, different content and less complaining.
