I tanked the Vault, yay.
I had an AST healer who I'm confused about. She doesn't have a sect on. I've been snapped at in the past for reminding people too early and since nothing is going wrong I let it go. Once one of our dps dies during thr first boss I feel like it's okay to say something.
She doesn't know what sects are. She jump potioned and has played SCH some before but wasn't 100% on AST. Had it been any other dungeon I wouldn't have been so worried but it's the Vault so I try to explain to her where they are. She doesn't see them. I wonder if maybe she jump potioned SCH then leveled AST without doing class quests and tell her to check on her quests when we get out.
We wipe to Chairbert 2 times but to be fair the DPS were a bit shaky on mechs and one time the NIN early pulled on me. We eventually clear with just the NIN and I alive after clutch Holmgang on my part and an LB from her.
I talked to the AST after the dungeon concluded and walked her through where to find her sects, the moves they impact, why they're important... it was nice becaus I enjoy momming people but at the same time I worry because if they had a worse tank or a meaner group this could have easily been a disaster of a run or resulted in her getting kicked. That's the sort of thing that can discourage someone from playing healer again or even playing the game more.
I wish they were more up front with the jump potions and forced some kind of tutorial on people, it's fine when you're jumping an alt or another class when you already understand it to an extent but this throwing people into content they can't handle is just poor business on SE's part.
To my dps - sorry that took so long. To my AST - ask questions! I don't mind, decent people don't mind, even bad people want to be able to clear.
