Decided on this for monk. Still have no clue why though lol..ignore the ARR relic as I was doing the mahatmas and nexus weapon was too bright :/ Originally wanted the top/bottom to be the hempen stuff but since it dyes like leather it wouldn't have matched the boots/gloves.

I never would have tried a classic femme fatale type of look if I wasn't challenged to do a "Noir Glamour Shot" during a screenshot contest, but I absolutely love how it turned out.

I have my dear. I think that's where my current despair/jadedness is coming from. You can't create certain looks without mandatory pieces of gear because there's so little of some styles out there. Most of my reactions lately to the glam sites I look into are mostly "Seen it." ; "Seen it." ; "Oh that gear again... how original...". Add the fact that I've had a few failed experiences...

I was so happy to get the same glamour for less than the price of a teleport to an adjacent zone. I wear it on my Hyur Highlander with a dyed Racial body piece to match. I thought it looked great but it looks even better on other races.

I know the feeling. When I was still leveling up and discovering more varieties of gear, it was pretty exciting, but now I think I've seen everything in the game and it's feeling rather repetitive.

People still surprise me with interesting glamours sometime though! Clever combinations of things, or items that aren't used much.

Also, it might be worthwhile making an alt character for playing around with new glamours - things can end up looking so different depending on the character's race and gender!

I don't know, maybe because I used to try to use the unusual stuff even that doesn't surprise me anymore. I've resigned to wear what other people normally do because screw it. Some of the stuff doesn't look that bad anyway and that's why people wear it.

I played around with the squadron glamour thing to see how some glams that I liked but don't really fit my character would look on other races. Then i decided to wing it and see what i could come up with what i had in my glam dresser and armoire. See if i could create random looks that I kinda liked. I basically glamed my entire squad in 10 minutes. I got annoyed and left. Other races have it so much easier when it comes to glamouring it's not even funny.

On the bright side I found out that I like my BRD glam way more on my character than on an Au Ra so HA!

Yeah I've read through it but I don't... get how it works... Also I normally avoid... most social media like fb, instagram, tumblr wtc and it seems that the glam scene thrives in twitter and instagram. >.>

I've never used tumblr before or since and, to be honest, I barely know how it works. I just go straight to ENTM's page and avoid everything else. I think that a new website is in the works for them, too.

As for how it works, it depends on which Cycle you do. They have ones for tumblr (which is their 'classic' format, even though they haven't always been on tumblr,) Youtube, and Instagram.

Instagram is their newest kind and it is the only one that allows editing pictures, reshades, and mods. The pictures are judged by a panel of past contestants and prominent members of the community (e.g. glamour bloggers, staff members of fan magazines, etc.) After the judges score each picture, the fans are allowed to vote via Instagram on the top two to decide who wins that round and the bottom two to see who gets to stay and who is eliminated. Last contestant left wins.

Youtube is also an elimination cycle. Lowest scoring model of each round is eliminated and highest scoring one gets immunity in the next round. Again, the last remaining contestant wins. Judges are the same but the fans only get to vote during the fan bring-back round where they can vote for any of the models eliminated earlier in the cycle to return for the last few rounds. All of the models have to submit their shots at the start of the competition (as opposed to round by round with the other two formats) so that they can be edited together into the videos. There is also voicework from both the models and judges involved.

Tumblr is the classic format and is not an elimination cycle. Models submit their pictures round by round and fans are allowed to vote each time, though their results count for a lower percentage than the judges. (In my cycle the judging has been so close that it's the fan votes who have decided the winners most of the rounds, so they still carry weight.) The winner is decided by the highest total score from the entire competition, not just the most wins. In all of the cycles the judges don't just score the pictures, they give reviews to explain their scores and to help the models improve in the coming rounds.

Mini monthly challenges are just one-offs that are decided solely by fan votes. The winner of the previous month picks the new theme/requirements for the new challenge and also wins their choice of a minion off of the Mog Station.
