I noticed the Scale/Horn colors change veeeery slightly if you change your character's skintone.
With a lighter skintone the horns lighten slightly and with a Darker skintone the horns darken.

Okay, so... I went back to the benchmark and turned off all the shadows and extra graphical effects, etc. The sclerae are still grey.

But! ...This may be a far cry from the actual reason, after looking at this from different angles and lighting, I realised that this grey looks very similar to, if not the same as, the default grey (at least in Maya and Blender) on 3D objects when they are not coloured or textured. Could it be that the texture is simply missing on the Xaela males' eyeballs?! At least in the character creation side of things...
