what bugs me about all this is when talking about housing SE/DEVS kept saying "Look forward to it!", "Look forward to it!", "Look forward to it!", "Look forward to it!" etc... but really there is nothing to look forward to. So now we all feel like we were robbed. We were told to look forward to it but now all we have are empty dreams. The majority of FC's just can't afford Housing especially with the markets taking a dive. No one wants to spend! they have to save their Gil for housing (lol).
The silence of non forum goers does not necessarily mean they disagree. Also consider this thread, and it's partner are one of the most viewed and liked threads in the forum, not to mention the bad press the decision of the housing prices has given. Abriael's article wasn't the only one out there that reported and had comments from other gamers. The decision and response of these discriminatory pricing is one that can effect how people view their subscription to this game.
To continue this ,this thread has 170k views in a week, when some popular threads from August barely have 100k. Pretty good indication that this is a big topic. Additionally even if it's a minority, a massive uproar on the forums is a pretty good barometer for the state of things throughout the community.
And as kallera said, silence doesn't mean that others are happy with it. No one else in my company has posted , but none of them are happy with them either.
Note also, that the sister JP thread has 260 pages, 2600 posts, and 960+ thousand views. If that's a minority, I'd love to see what people think is a majority.
one of the very few things that most of the members of this forum agree on. price for housing is too high.
Blindly defending the game and company and coming up with convoluted excuses or strawmen won't ever help the game at all, voicing our concerns and feedback on what's wrong with the game and could very much harm it and the players in various ways, such as high housing prices, will ultimately help the game. That is of course if the feedback is heard and there's a positive change.
Fact.
