If it gets your recast under 2.35s naturally, an arrow (maybe selene, have not tested), will get you into 4xr3 territory.

Do we have a new opener with the Ruin3 changes? I read around and saw some different suggestions, but there hasnt been a definitive post about it.
I've been doing a ghetto version of my old opener. It is based around my old opener, 3D's extreme speed, and Ruin 3's new potency. Might not be the mathematically top opener, I wouldn't know because this has not been plugged into a calculator yet, but it's enough to beat the A8S dummy with my gear and good crits.
Precast Shadow Flare > B2 > M > B > Swiftcast + Fester > R3 (Shadow Flare instead if you couldn't precast it) > Rouse + Spur > R2 > pot > R2 > RS + Painflare > R2 > Fester + DWT > M2 > Enkindle + Aetherflow + 3D > R3 spam while smashing Contagion, until ender.
Notes about why I made it this way:
- Triple weave is there so you don't have to do an unnecessary R2, and 3D is hideously fast. TA will be dropping close to this point so it's not wise to delay the whole DWT to maximise Ruin 3 usage.
- Ender is R3 > hardcast Deathflare, or R2 > Fester + Deathflare if 2s left on lock, or R2 > Deathflare + Fester with 1s left on clock. Fester gets Raging Strikes no matter what at least.
- Enkindle is before Aetherflow to get it under Trick Attack more consistently. You probably do not lose an Aetherflow or anything of value by delaying it by .5 seconds.
- With the R3 buff, it's REALLY worth it to precast Shadow Flare. It was always was but now it's a pretty major gain.
- Using RS with this timing kind of locks in the DWT timing in a 2F/1P opener. If you use RS at this timing, you can't delay DWT (RS would drop off before Deathflare), and you can't really delay RS because you'll miss out on Painflare and possibly Fester.
Is it me or do both caster sets REALLY cater to blackmage and leave Summoner in the dust? I thought they learned this lesson from 2.4 :/
Wow never thought people who love to play smn go all out with explainations lol. Also I never knew that accuracy actually increased a smn damage output, got to applogize to the new smn relic also I would probably get hate for this but in dungeons I usually just use tri disaster, contagion and then bane, that new aoe cd and fester then go into trance and spam ruin III then deathflare and add a shadow flare.
That's perfectly fine, imo, so long as you're filling your GCDs with something (Blizzard II is a good choice if the group is 4+ enemies). 3D isn't worth saving for Dreadwyrm in trash pulls because you just want to use one stack of aetherflow in one pullanyways. You also can start dealing great damage in no time thanks to TD's instant application of everything.
Gonna pop in here and ask a quick question. Sorry if it was covered. With the new Tank class changes with Enmity generation did Titan Egi get altered in any way? Thanks.
With 733 spellspeed in Dreadwyrm Trance, I'm able to consistently get 5 Ruin III's and 1 Ruin II->Tri-Disaster->Fester along with the Deathflare finisher. The Ruin II->TriD->Fester can be in between the Ruin III's or at the very end and it still works fine. This just requires pushing each spell/ability out as soon as possible.
But the odd thing is, if I try using 6 Ruin III's and try to finish with a Deathflare, it seems a lot more difficult and I think I've only gotten the Deathflare out 2-3 times in many tries even on a dummy. I'm wondering if Ruin III"s animation delay is just a few milliseconds longer which may be causing this, anybody else experiencing the same thing?
Hmm I'm not sure if my own opener is valid
Precast Shadowflare, precast BioII
Miasma, Bio, Painflare, Fester
R2 Rouse Spur
R2 Enkindle
R3,R2 Fester, R2 Aether, R3,
M2 Swift RS DWT (clipping happens :( )
R3 Tri, Fester, R3x4,
R2 (if enough SS which I have) Fester Death
Shadowflare
With this Raging Strikes ends right after the Shadowflare cast. Thoughts?
