No, I'd sy male miqo'te are just catboys. Like that simple. Housecats. Horthgar are a mix of big cats, not just lions, sure. Look, I understand some people don't like the whole "catboy" moniker, I'm just being real here.

Just because they have cat-like ears they are housecats? On what proof? It can be any cat, domestic or wild. Or any feline. Miqote are just feline ppl lol.

Miqo'te are...catgirls, and catboys. And because of this they are meant to have a certain "cute" factor. There's nothing inherently wrong with that, but that is a simple fact. They appeal to a certain preferred aesthetic. I wouldn't consider "wildcat" to be that particular aesthetic, not that wildcats can't be cute, because they can. Housecat...is not entirely wrong when describing Miqo'te. Hrothgar, however, are meant to be beastly and wild.

But idk this whole "cat ears" = 100% cute and nothing else is just stupid imo. I just don't see that at all. Ears moving around won't make something cute, the situation, they way they are presented however make "cat ears" boost the cute side.
Male miqo have some cute emotes, but not that mutch. Females yeah, they have a lot of cute things going on lol.

Male miqo have some cute emotes, but not that mutch. Females yeah, they have a lot of cute things going on lol.

I was referring to male viera's ears, and under the assumption they would be quite masculine. There are more factors when it comes to male miqo'te that make them appear "cute", than just their little cat ears. Like Vahlnir says, they appeal to a certain aesthetic. I don't mean anything bad by it, that aesthetic is just not for me.

Don't get me wrong i never said you meant anything, i just don't get your pov. Even for the emotes : some are cute but every race has cute emotes just in different ways (look at hrogars sitting like big teddy bears lol). I wouldnt call miqo ears little too, it's almost as big as elezen ears.
So i don't understand ppl who say miqo are the "cute cat race". Maybe i'm just less sensible to thoose things idk.
For viera it's the same thing, they are more elegant than cute. Make male viera very masculine, bunny ears won't break the masculine look. It's like saying a lion is not frightening anymore because of his ears and tail xD.

True, that is how puberty works. And whatever the au ra have going on shows that within FFXIV, extreme dimorphism between the sexes isn’t out of the question.

I still really don’t think they’d risk making an unconventional choice with their debut. Small buns and beastly buns are fun to toy with the idea of, but again, I don’t think anyone is genuinely expecting those things. When and if we get them, they’ll be tall and toned pretty boys with bunny ears. This will be met with the least amount of backlash, and honestly just makes the most sense. Tbh I think they’ll have a way harder time conceptualizing female hroth in a way that stays true to their vision and makes them appealing to the player base than they will with male viera.

Lets all remember the bunny gold saucer set. People talked and asked them about it for like forever and at the end we finally go it. I am sure that if people had stopped earlier they would have just hoped that we did forget and not do it.

I am also not sure whats with the term echo chamber. So is it now wrong to have a topic where most that post have the similiar opinion? And as someone here from the start I honestly dont count it as one...Yes most people posting here are for it (its a support thread after all..) but we already had pages over pages with different views on how tall they should be, how they should look overall. If it was a pure echo chamber why would that happen?

But I guess instead of seeing it as proof that quite a few people would love male vieras we will just call it a echo chamber to put down all these different opinions.
