I know it's iconic, but it is only related to the opening and the overworld theme; not Magitek Mounts. On the whole it doesn't even really work as mount music (it's fine at walking pace, but that's it), while something like Devil's Lab does, and has a much greater relation to Magitek in general.

If you don't want to use the original theme, make it an orchestral remix that fits the FFXIV Themes, tempo, etc. When I was searching for potential music adaptations for flight that could be used in FFXIV while flying, I came across this as well: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JUMSl3G-Uss which would fit the music of FFXIV pretty well.

After the Live Letter at fanfest I was able to grab Yoshida's attention for a quick question about this. I told him about us as fans wanting this song and he said he will talk to Soken to get it done for us! YAY!

I am all for this as well. Got to have that song with the Magitek Armor, they go hand in hand.

Roughly 2 seconds, all you have to do is change the file name of the music in the coding.

My bf and I were both really anticipating the Magitek mount coming with Terra's Theme as its music. We're racing to finish the story because we are so excited about this mount (and having Terra's Theme while riding) so I googled to check, and found this thread. We were both terribly disappointed to find that's not the case.

I know this has been responded to by SE already, and that it's been up for a year and a half, but I really hope SE reconsiders their decision.

FF6 is by far my favorite Final Fantasy -- I've got a Terra tattoo for crying out loud. Terra's theme would be a really wonderful touch to what's already a fantastic throwback, and as others have mentioned, it doesn't seem off base to include, nor does it seem difficult.

Please reconsider changing the Magitek armor music in an upcoming patch!! I doubt many players even comment in the forums, but many, many players have gone out of their way to reply to this post. The players would clearly appreciate it.

I would prefer them to create a different music for each mount, personally, not just the Magitek mount. The current music probably works best with the courle mount. Would love to see some more variety and musical themes that actually fit the mount better. I do admit that sometimes I just get on the mount to listen to the music lol but it would be even cooler if we had more choices to listen to :D

Actually apparently the real reason is they couldn't secure the rights to that particular song when they wanted it.
In fact, BECAUSE they already made the song, they screwed themselves out of being able to use it because they didn't get permission first, since Uematsu wrote it and doesn't work directly for SE anymore.
At least that's what I hear, and that's the thing that makes the most sense.
In other words it's a bunch of copyright BS that you'd need a lawyer to properly express.

Look at that. Yeah, STAGGERING amount of difference from the one seen in FFXIV, they're hardly the same machine at all!

Except when you think about it (which I've been doing since my earlier post), it does actually make sense - Terra's Theme is a main character's theme (as well as the world map music for FFVI), and thus really issynonymous with FFVI. You hear Terra's Theme and you think of Terra and the FF title she appears in.

If it was used hypothetically as the magitek armour theme in ARR, players would be feeling the wrong 'mood' or idea that SE wish to convey - not mount music for the player's recondition magitek reaper they 'liberated' from Castrum Centri/the Praetorium, but the main character of FFVI, a completely different game.

Thus as FFXIV has no direct connection with any other FF game, this is a legitimate decision to make 'FFXIV stand on it's own' for once. Having said that, another FFVI track such as Devil's Lab or Gesthal Empire might be more appropriate for mount BGM for the magitek armour, something that is more synonymous with the magitek armour itself and not a character.

i find it far more enjoyable when a mount has it's iconic tune, goobbues and corurls having the tune they have fits, i wish ADS mount had the dungeon theme of Turn 1.
maybe the different Beast mounts could have a dominant instrument from there respective clan (you can hear the dominant instrument when accepting a quest.)

The article says "Yes, it's 'that song'. For best results, get two friends together and march when its snowing".

Given that line, I'm fairly certain it'll be Terra's Theme, since that's the music that plays during that scene at the beginning of Final Fantasy VI, and that's the song people have been petitioning for over Devil's Lab.
