Some suggestions, mostly quality of life, obvious things

Hi there, excellent topic idea!

Here's my list (something might have been already discussed, but here we go):
A) Item/Spell/Achievements/Quest links on the chat. Really odd this feature is missing!
B) Mouse over item compare! If I mouse over an item, please show the current item I've equipped next to it so I can compare the two easily.
C) Please, let us craft from the retainers inventory!
D) Sorting feature for retainers inventory, player inventory, armory.
E) Staking feature for retainers inventory, player inventory, armory (i.e. I click "stack all" and if I have two or more stacks of an item, they get merged in one stack)
F) Let us mount on the chocobo directly even if it is out as a Companion (it's weird to have to release him and then call him back)
G) Please save the interface/hotbar/macro settings server side or at least save everything to a file and let us know where it is so we can use it on different computers.

H) I know this has already been said but: LET US CHOOSE WHAT QUEST TO TRACK!
I) Please, add the Hunting Log locations in the map (and let us mark them as a "quest" in the duty list).
L) Please, have a look to Hunting/Gather logs: they often say the wrong area or a very generic and thus useless zone.

You select the maximum amount with a single click in that window by hitting the minus button once when the number in the box is 1. It cycles around, just like hitting plus after that will go back to 1.

I'd like to see more emotes. The current list is great, but there are plenty of NPCs that use animations I would also like to use, such as lying down or swinging a sword.

And for FATES, maybe show the progress bar when highlighting it on the map, not just the timer? It's a pain running to a FATE with 12 minutes left only to find that it's almost beaten.

Not sure if this has been mentioned earlier or not, but in the duty finder groups if someone disconnects or logs off during the duty, having the the lock out timer disabled after a reasonable amount of time waiting for the person to return or subtract the time waited from the lockout timer. If something like this is already in place, make the timer visible while waiting on the person to return.

No reason for anyone to have to deal with the lockout timer when someone disconnects or logs off and does not return in a reasonable amount of time, like say 5 to 10 minutes.

For the love of all that is holy, PLEASE, PLEASE. Add an option to the UI which "solidifies" or makes the chat log easier to read. This transparency needs to go. Or at least be optional.

Could there be a list of FATEs completed in the journal much like how the Journal keeps track of levequests completed?

For the controller main menu (or all main menu's), please make the cursor start on the Log for your current class I.E. If I'm using fishing, the cursor starts on the "Fishing Log" etc.

Hiding jewelry

More personality for the races outside of emotes (variations to how each race and/or clan wears armor, or fighting stances and/or animations for example)

Faster mounts, or the ability to use sprint while mounted to similarly increase speed.

These are my suggestions :

- Allow us to ride the chocobo companion without having to withdraw first.

- When hovering over a FATE in the map, show the completion bar instead of the remaining time.

I think I saw an option to change the transparency in chat settings.

- a /tell filter that allow me to block /tell from non-friend/non-LS/non-FC players.

certain display filter for character names on screen.
currently i have all PC names on screen disabled. however i'd like to see names from peope displayed that are in my LS/FC or friendslist.

lol i would like to have my gear not brake when im not even fighting.

Don't know if this one has come up yet, but you can't search for an additional party member for the primal fights if someone leaves. There are people leaving as soon as they see someone of the same class in a group so they don't have competition for weapon drops, and we can't search for an additional person in these fights, only in dungeons. Please fix/add this.

a couple suggestions:
- place a timer for chocobo so that we see when they are going to leave rather than during a fight we notice that he just left on his own
- BRING BACK THE QUEST BOX!! I know it was under talks but talks shouldn't take this long to say yes or no. I was in P3 and developer(s) consensus was to remove it. The community loved it, should not have been remove.
- in the chat box, make it so that when we click on someones name we can go to report them. It's hard reporting RMTs when I start creating the ticket and their name disappears in the chat box because of new incoming messages. It gets to the point that I don't want to create the ticket at all; happened 3 times already.

1)Enabling our other mounts to become combat companions, each with a unique set of abilities.

3) Increasing the health and durability of FATE monsters that adjusts based on the number of players engaged like you said you would do. As of right now FATEs complete too quickly and it puts single players at a disadvantage.

4) Allow macros to be optionally set as text commands which can easily be executed by typing a shortcut in chat box.

Please please PLEASE add right click and block to the chat window.

And can we get some GMs to cruise around the different servers banning the RMT. Just do one server a day or something and smash the accounts linked to them. Hell... if nothing else just think... each RMT account blocked is $50 to SE as they will buy another copy of the game... so it's well worth the time of the GM to do it.

Would really love to see a UI Scaling option. I am playing on a very large screen and can not read anything except the chat log! (which does have a scaling option.) Needless to say this makes questing and CSs a bit annoying as I have to keep getting up to stare at my tv like some blind, geriatric, mongo...>_> Please help! A scaling slider bar with percentage options or a manual input option would be brilliant!^^

Hello, this thread is much appreciated and thanks to everyone for contributing constructively. I'd like to add some of my own, though I am confident parts have already been discussed so apologies for duplications. I've tried to keep them simple yet with a personal injection as to give you an idea of where I am coming from.

Please bare in mind some of the suggestions do not originate with myself yet were picked up from the beta forums - such as the comments on character 'barber shop' and out of game services.

Chat Log

1. Transparency slider.

2. Let us embed the chat logs. I want my battle log embedded on the screen similar to how the FATE text is embedded. I want to remove the name tag of the chat window.

In SWTOR you can make the chat window UI completely disappear leaving just the chat on the screen without the ugliness of the widget. If I could do that with ARR's chat logs, it would not be an eyesore to have the chat log anywhere except the corner of the screen.

This would be super useful for the battle chat log. We could then have it in the middle of the screen. Like most people I have it filtered for just enemy special moves. So it would be handy to have chat pop for "Ifrit readies Inferno". Basically it would appear similar to how quests tick off with the blue writing in the middle of the screen as you progress.

It would be nice if I could do repairs on arms and equipment that doesn't belong to me. Allowing people to request repairs would let me do that. Its no disincentive for me to cart around my own supply of dark matter if I get compensated for my efforts in exp and a little gil.

I wish you could /visor on more pieces of gear. Namely the heavy iron/steel/darklight stuff that covers the head.

-custom map markers
-loosen up the keybinds(example- i wanted to bind reply to R, as it is in most mmos but its hard coded to autorun?!?)
-give us a /blacklist account feature to help us block gil sellers
-easy to see debuffs
-maybe a new target filter for FATES like target only FATE mobs?
-maybe autogroup for FATES to make healing easier? ("do you want to join FATE group?" when entering FATE circle,or something)

Non-legacy servers don't have enough gil being generated (especially those with closed character creation), repair costs too high and not enough reward to offset them.

Wanted to quote this since it seems like a problem that should really be looked into. The game economy will not be able to sustain itself unless more/better options to obtain gil are implemented. Selling on market is only shifting gil from character A to B, while losing on gil from transaction fees. Between high repair/teleport/taxes servers seem to be losing more money than they gain which is especially troubling for non-legacy servers, new players, and 1.0 players who did not have a substantial amount of gil coming from 1.0.

Also I'd like to restate the ability to keybind the mouse wheel, super convenient! D:

Adding the ability to trade items in dungeons... Id like to trade Ethers and antidotes to certain people who need it.

At the Teleportation list, stick the location after the destination, or regroup it.
Eg.: Forgotten Springs (Southern Thanalan)

Doing quests you are often asked to go to a specific region, and not a specific city.

1 - Currently the quest icons all just shows the <!> sign when there is a quest available for the given character. It will be a nice feature to change the icon so it also indicates level, either something like !1, !2, !3, !4, !5 for 1-10, 11-20, 21-30, 31-40, 41-50. This helps the player to visually sort out the available quest/sidequest when we do not do all the quests on the first go around. This also helps when we save the side quests for other classes.

2 - This can also be a welcome addition to the recommend list.

This can also be indicated by color or different icon shapes instead of all gold/red.

GW2 has the same style. I love they way they make use of the crafting mats container so much >_< you simply have 1 account bound container and you can store all mats in there. Even when mining out in the wilds.

How about making it so that in dungeons the Timer pauses as long as players are in cutscenes.

Adding to chat features
- Click menu option to report spam. It would both put the player to ignore list and send a report to SE of player spam.

A major inconvenience is within "Hand Over" (or Hang over?) system. You always mess up which item you should really give to NPC. There should definitely be a filter to highlight matching items. And in many cases you have really no options as you are giving key items - in this case the dialog should not be there at all.

Also I would like to see skill queue improved. While 1st skill is casting I would like to queue next skill. While this seems to work a bit in a single skill spam situation, It does not work if you try to queue another skill. The queue system should be definitely extended and should be managable by user (things like queue length in seconds etc).

I still haven't received any help on why I absolutely cannot target pets/Carbuncle(s) with a gamepad. I have to use the gamepad mouse or regular mouse. I have altered all relevant settings to try and alleviate the problem and nothing has worked. I started playing on PS3 and the problem was there from the beginning as well when I hadn't touched any settings at all.

I am 100% confident this is not an end-user settings issue as it was there from the beginning with base settings, it has persisted through all relevant settings changes and I have talked to others with the exact same issue. Granted, I'd rather not be able to target them than target them when I didn't want to like most others with the bug in question here but since my problem has not been addressed or mentioned I am quite worried that it is not an acknowledged bug and I will not be able to target pets/Carbuncle(s) anytime soon.

Should mention how frustrating is targeting:
- Tab targeting really lives on it's own. I can't really predict which target it will select. Definitely the closest targets should be preferrable. Tagged targets should not be excluded from Tab list (it seems they have like low priority or something)
- Friendly targeting is a mess. Working as an off-party healer is a major pain - I can't really target wounded allies, it is very frustrating.
