Hey you guys, did you see the brand new male locked glamour on the mog shop?! oh boy!
This is what they're making instead of the bunny outfit. THIS.

I quite like this
The boys get an exclusive glamour and it’s the only glamour released in the update to the MogStation and you still cry about it???
You caught up by an entire set, take a small “victory” and enjoy it.
We have a very anticipated and requested glamour, several glamour sets in fact, and they decide to give us this, which to begin with isn't even an original set but something crafters spam a lot.
I will concede it's cool in the battle damage front, which is pretty rare. But that has nothing to do with the fact that a lot of the complaints about male glamour in the games aren't only the quantity but also the quality, like how the Valentoine's set is just a recolor of CUL sets already in the game while the ladies got some exclusive new items.
So yeah, I'm going to complain about getting rags for glamour.
Wow, so females get Lyse outfit, meanwhile guys get this ragged ARR gear! :D
I can't tell to laugh or cry here. I mean it's nice male characters get male exclusive gear but... seriously?
But why? I mean, at least it's male NPC gear and not unisex, that's kinda been something we've asked for, but this specific set would have been the last one I'd have thought of, let alone wanted? Especially considering it's really just more reused low-level gear with a few alterations to justify reselling it to us. An even bigger question is why they would put this on the MB instead of making it a reward for the Hildebrand SB questline, though. This is 2.0 Scion gear all over again.
Even worse, if sales are low, they're going to point at that like it proves people with male characters don't care about glamour, rather than that the set was underwhelming....
Wow they are really trying to sell everything on the mog shop now..even destroyed manderville gear..But hey now if you want more "unique" male glamour you can just shell out real money! Shame on you SE...maybe the bunny gear does take so long because its free glamour instead of mog station stuff..
I feel like that's the gist of it. It feels like they're giving it to us to keep us quiet, hell, we just had Istaru in here telling us to shut up and praise it (ironically or not, not sure yet), they probably feel similar. The problem with putting it in the game is the exact gender-lock - they'd have to have put something in for the ladies as well, and seeing how Nashu wears ONLY outfits that exist in the game without the 'modifications' this outfit has, they kind of had their hands tied. Any alternative would've included making new gear-sets and only further deepening the problem, so we're stuck with this mockery.
Kind of reminds me of Marvel comics blaming diversity for their sale drops :< guys that's really not the problem, the problem is your content is bad.Quote:

I do feel the same way. Some men have been asking for male glamours to even out the deficit you guys have. This does that.
I am not going to say it is a great set or a good set.
Would I buy it? No. But I have also stopped buying items from the MogStation until they do something about my tail clipping through their “premium” outfits. Bring back 1.0 laces please!!
I understand it isn’t the bunny outfit. To me, if I was a guy and they made me wait how many years and then they tossed it into the MogStation instead of free like we got it for I’d be pissed!
I think I actually facepalmed when I saw the mog station update.
Is this really the best you can do for guys, SE? Baring the fact it's a simple reskin of a set basically anyone can already wear, it's also absolutely atrocious. Who in their right mind would wear this set outside of Halloween or cosplay reasons? The answer is very, very few people.
Ridiculous.
I can actually see this becoming popular among certain niche crowds. But certainly not an all time best seller.
well.... I have been wanting a new crop top. ;/ I guess this'll have to do. Anyone know if its dyeable ?
Welcome to my view on things every time a new NPC outfit is released. They'd at least make some decent amount of extra sales by taking a little bit of time to make the gear dyable (which even modders can do easily, apparently?? gg), and one of the number one complaints I see from people is that the stuff isn't dyable.
Or in the case of the older Scion sets from ARR, they have dyable versions of the gear already in the game for free. l o l
Alphanerd's outfit when? (Did anyone actually want Hilda-zombie's outfit?)
Isn't it ironic they gave males a comedic character outfit. It's almost as if they laughing at us still for wanting male glamours/bunny suit. I won't be buying.
SE took cues from the worst fashion trend in recent years: rip up perfectly good clothes and sell them for more money than intact sets.
If I played this game for the glamour I'd be gone long ago. But it's bad enough as-is that it's a factor in me deciding whether I want to keep subbing or not. It's not a make or break deal, but... you know. Feeling like I matter as much as other people who pay the same sub I do is kind of important to me. SE doesn't have to care about me personally. But they have to demonstrate that they aren't going to keep favouring one group while occasionally placating the other.
Ugh.
The tattered Hildibrand set really would have made sense as an in-game reward. It unsettles me that it's thrown onto the Mog Station as it'll no doubt be used to excuse the lack of unique NPC glamour sets for male characters in the future. Some of the stuff associated with Eureka is pretty neat, I'll admit. Though it's not easy to acquire, based on RNG and you can't even put it on the market board.
Bumping after the Spring Bottoms were revealed to be super disappointing. Ladies get these super cute hot pants and men get scrubs.
I am honestly baffled by this decision. Who even asked for this? Females get Lyse's really nice outfit, but the guys get Hildibrand's destroyed crafting gear? I feel like not many people will spend real money on this. I know I'm not. And then the devs will inevitably come to the conclusion that those of us who play male characters don't care about glamour. Between this and the lackluster male spring bottoms, I just feel disappointed.
I found one person who bought it. Given the circumstances, however, I think I can forgive...

Wouldn't giving us Hien's outfit have made more sense?
WTB Nero's stubble. Gods I need that on my guys.
I just saw the Spring Bottoms, the male version is just another boring pair of slacks while girls get cute shorts. -_- Really SE
So I just switched to a male char a few days ago and I've been on the hunt for boots/shoes with nice heels on them like the bard 290's and the highhouse boots, and suggestions? preferably something not class locked or at least usable by a BLM
This place seemed like a good place to ask since it was bumped not long ago and was specifically about male clothes
The fact is SE is more and more designing its game for the asian market, at least since the game's been released in Korea and China. It can be felt in the gameplay but mostly on the outfits as clearly everything is designed for women...
The highhouse boots are unisex. If you're looking for other options, there's also the Hailstorm boots of casting(Idyllshire, poetics) that have a little heel, and If I'm remembering right, the Evenstar bootees (Allied Seals from your GC huntmaster) and Serpentskin Bootlets (Vendor in Asys Lla or crafted) also have a heel.
Ah thank you both! I never noticed the Marid boots and I totally forgot about the Hailstorm stuff!
It also depends on how tall you want them, the Ishgardian historians thighboots from Dusk Vigil are thigh-highs with a heel, not as short as the serpentskin casting ones, but more tall like the serpentskin healing ones. Undyeable, though, so that's a strike against them.
PLEASE SE.
They wouldn't even have to work that hard to keep things equal. Give men the 4 chocobros (Noct, Prompto, Iggy, Gladio), and give ladies Lunafreya's dress, Gentiana's clothes, Iris' outfit, and Aranea's armor. BOOM most people would be happy. They had zero issue doing this (mostly) for the Comrades expansion in FFXV.
Unfortunately I feel like they'd be lazy and would only give Noctis' outfit (unisex). Like Noctis is my favorite out of the whole crew, but I'm getting tired of only his attire being offered in crossovers with other games.
