yeah, asking several people to transfer to the legacy worlds(half of which are on creation restriction and the other half are still pretty crowded anyway, right?), break up free company progress they have, leave friends they made, etc, to play with one or two of their friends who have had the game since 1.0 is perfectly reasonable.

not to mention restricting completely new players who made characters on legacy worlds because other worlds in their region were closed to them during the chaotic launch week.

I'm just speculating of course, but if I would lose Legacy Status by transferring to a Non-Legacy world...I really don't care. I just want to be able to play the game with my daughter but I am on Excalibur which is full so she probably won't be able to transfer to me and I'll bet that all the Legacy Worlds are full or will fill up fast preventing us both from transferring to them.

Is there anyone willing to give up a spot on Excal so my daughter can join me? (not that it would help).

I am willing to give up my spot on Excal and my daughters spot on Cactuar for 2 slots on another Legacy World. (as if that would help).

p.s I seriously doubt my 250k gil is going to hurt a Non-Legacy Worlds economy and I only have 3 lvl 50 Battle Classes (the rest are 30-ish) and all my DoH/L are lvl 36 or lower.

SE, just please make it work somehow so we can play together. As long as it's an NA World, I don't care where we end up.

Seriously, if there is no obvious alternative available (like a brand new Legacy world with lots of space), have your daughter and friends transfer to your Legacy world. SE said they may split worlds (i.e. world count goes up +1) and they won't know to do that until they see all the transfer requests. IMHO there are no more likely candidates for splitting up than NA/EU Legacy worlds.

i know i saw that it's possible on yoshi-p's post last week or something, but not on the new lodestone page about next week's world transfer...

oh, and what time zone are you guys using for the october 15th start?

Absolute rubbish. A very small percentage of 1.0 characters are rich to the point where they may affect an economy. Most of us played for a few months in 1.0, quit the game, and have come back at 2.0 launch. We don’t have mega-riches, and we don’t have all lvl50 jobs. Gill sellers on new worlds have altered the economy far more than a 1.0 character ever could.
This reason given for the restriction of movement is ridiculous, and is a slap in the face to SE’s longest standing supporters of this game.

Your economic past DOES have a very real impact on present concerns. Companies in practically every market reward the loyalty of their paying customers to keep them happy and keep them investing in their product. It is also a fantastic incentive for new buyers, because they know they will be treated well in the future and not neglected. SE seems to ignore this accepted principle.

My friends cannot move to my server.
I cannot move to them.
I am not prepared to re-roll after the hard work i have put into my toon.

After reading through recent posts and realizing that at this point there is no changing the stubborn, narrow minds of SE's management team, I am taking the decision to quit the game until Legacy status on selected servers is removed, and unrestricted transfers are available for ALL.
I invite others in the same situation to follow suit. When SE see a drop in subscriptions, they may think twice about this issue. Some may not like this, but SE need to focus on allowing people to play the game that exists rather than focusing on adding more content this early in it's lifespan.

remember what SE did to the 1.0 gil? 1.0 player did lose a fair amount gil. I had alil over 1mil when the game when down, then when our 1.0 character was tansfered to 2.0. my gill went from 1mil to 100k... so ya :mad:

There's tons of Legacy players claiming they do not have tons of gil nor levels; I am one of them, lvl 42 and broke.

As I've said before, give us options!
Gil caps & crafting lvl caps for starters.
THERE your problem is no longer a problem Miss Billzey.
Take away our dungeon items past 30+... For god's sake do Something besides tell us your SOL.

Also as stated earlier SE refuses to acknowledge this MAJOR issue. Not even an apology. They answered here & read over a TON of ppl who are pissed. They just ignored it. Poor move SE. My husband and I are not even interested in playing now, and it makes me truly sad because we love the game so much.

The legacy worlds are congested, if not already full.

Hi all,
when i created my account and got to the server options, i was given NO OTHER option BUT to roll on a server called Ridill. Next to it, it said legacy in brackets which at the time as a new player to ARR, i of course had no idea what that even meant.

Either way that is irrelevant since i had no choice but to roll my character on there. Meanwhile my friends were on another server which i could not even see on the list since the NA/EU was not even available to browse through let alone create a character on.

I thought that it was fine for now and by the time i get to a high level, server transfers would be available. So after playing alone for close to a month which was fun of course since everything was new to me i started feeling the pain of being alone with not much to solo since i hit 50 and was on my relic quest.

I couldn't wait to get off the server simply because the queues alone from things like Ifrit HM and dungeons were ridiculous and more importantly i was alone and my friends elsewhere.
Of course then i heard the news that legacy characters cannot transfer to non legacy, in other words i cannot join my friends due a restriction which has not even been explained fully. So here i am sitting on a legacy server which i had no choice but to be on and now i am going to stay stuck here because of some economy mumbo jumbo? Or should i ask my 9 friends to join me on this server which is already packed with players and queue times that are terrible?
Doesn't seem very logical to ask 9 players to move to a server instead of me moving to them. Besides my friends are not going to transfer to this server with those queue times and the overcrowded issue.
So basically SE is dictating where i can and cannot go, that would be fine if this was a free game, i would keep quiet and roll with it.

But i am paying for this service?? ..quite shocking to say the least... Whatever next, might as well dictate the times and days we can and cannot play...
Legacy servers are already all packed and with the transfers coming even more are going to join them, some to join their stuck friends and some because they want to be on a legacy server.To me the fact that i am stuck here as i am sure many other people are too is not something that is fun. From no choice but to roll on this server at the beginning due to SE's bad planning to again being stuck here due to some other restriction. I'm absolutely lost for words here, really, this is upsetting and poor poor management and planning. Not sure what else to say here except this is disappointing.

I don't like the restriction placed on Legacy players also. We have a lot of friends who could not get onto the Legacy worlds because they were full, and now we are STUCK on them, and I am willing to bet that Hyperion and Excalibur may be closed off before our friends can all transfer over. This is crap. Why punish your loyal Legacy players like this?

Well if we cant move off of the legacy server,they should add another legacy server and hope to lessen the overcrowded

while that would address the overcrowded legacy server issue, it doesn't even come close to touching the much deeper "i can't really play with my friends without starting from scratch with a character i have had for like 3 years and it is horribly unreasonable for me to ask them to break any ties they have made in the game and break free companies to come join me" issue.

Even if I said not to, many others would apply to transfer in, anyway, and at least some would be successful. So you are suggesting I go out to convince 20 people to transfer to my server, given that they might not all successfully transfer, plus the fact that they might not be able to play for several days that's paid for?

I love when people suggest "just have them transfer to you". Like everyone on a legacy server has only one friend for whom they are also their only friend and it would disturb nothing for that singular person to just transfer in to a legacy server.

Everyone concerned about Legacy players ruining the economy, acting like they even care. Tell me, how many of you are more concerned over the Legacy players or the hackers teleporting from gathering node to gathering node? Anyone? Oh, sorry. Legacy players are more of a concern with their possible 200-500k gil. There are several ways to have gone about this World Transfer for Legacy players, many ways were mentioned. It's also very easy to say whatever you want when you're not affected by it.

That's up to you. I am a little concerned about that high number, and apparently so are you. The person I responded to wondered if one close family member should try to transfer to his legacy world and I say definitely yes.

As for my situation, we're transferring 3 new characters and 1 legacy character to a legacy world. I think it has a good chance of success.

Quite a few others here and on other sites talk about wanting to transfer to legacy worlds because their friends on legacy worlds are forbidden from transferring to their world. SE really needs to make sure this can happen, or lose customers, including some v1 and legacy players.

Sad to see, how they dictate our terms and we are meant to be the clients here and not even given any choice.
I subbed for the month but once my time is over if nothing is resolved regarding this most crucial matter which is also affecting many players on here, i will certainly not renew my subscription if this is how this company is going to treat their loyal fans.

Certainly seems that way since this matter doesn't seem to be too serious for them.

This thread never really got a proper response from them regarding this problem that many of us seem to have.
Yet there are few threads i have seen, like for example the one regarding the looks of the characters and shape or what not, that got a response of course. Funny how priorities go out the window when it comes to proper issues that hinder our abilities to play with our real friends/family.

You know maybe you are right.
This thread should remain on the main page, being an important problem for many.

But looking at this thread and it being one of the biggest threads on here with over 500 replies and 140 000 views.
If THAT hasn't gotten their attention, i doubt making a new one will even bring it to their attention.
Besides making a new thread will bring out the white knights moaning 'not this again' or something to that nature.

go through this giant thread (not even all the way) and like posts that agree with your sentiments. That's probably more effective than creating the same thread a hundred times.

Even better news, Excalibur and Hyperion both legacy servers are overcrowded and on the list of SE's most crowded servers...
Which leaves us the 2.0 players that were stuck from day 1 and had no choice but to roll on a legacy server, with even less of a choice.
And how long do you think will Excalibur and Hyperion last before they are locked down..?

So from a whopping 5 servers to chose from... we are now left with a huge choice of 3 servers to transfer to.
So 3 legacy servers left for all the 2.0 players that are stuck and away from their friends on non legacies.
This is getting better by the minute....

i know how much of a negative impact this is having
on thousands of players. so many of us have been
split apart for long enough and the frustrations are
reaching their limits.

personally, i have been thinking of a simple and proactive
way to get this issue more attention so that SE realizes
they have already destroyed this community right from
the release and continue to do so by furthering these
restrictions on world transfers.

all i could come up with was that everyone take the time
and write a short email describing your story about how
this issue has negatively impacted your experience. copy
and paste this email and send it to every single internet gaming
website, (gamespot, ign, kotaku 1up, etc.). maybe with all
of your stories out there for these sites to read there will
be more attention given to this. include links to threads that
you are aware of as well. maybe then SE will take this more
seriously.

Equally, if starting an email campaign. The president of Square NA/EU did put up his email address a couple months ago in a blog. Hell, I even got a reply to my email from him (or that poor intern that had to slog through them all :P). Realistically, is he going to run over to Yoshi and lay down the law? Nope. However, if the point is to bang on as many pots as we can. That seems a pretty shiny one to bang on.

So I wanna make sure I have this right, Those of us who are unfortunate enough to have been put on a legacy server, can't play with our friends unless we reroll on their servers? Cause the lkelyhood of 6-8 people getting on a legacy server per person, is just not gonna happen. ~.~

Well you can transfer from legacy to legacy if that's any consolation lol... and check my post above post #514 regarding our possible transfers not that it will bring any good news.
