Well, the potencies are equal... so if the shield is weak, then the corresponding heal would be weak. As a sidenote- I think the shield amount should be STATIC, the shields shouldn't depend on healing done... they should just be a shield instead of a heal. Secondly, I know the pet UI is borked, and I COMPLETELY agree it needs to be reworked. That is a major class issue and doesn't have anything to do with WHMs. I am not, nor have I disputed that it is anything but a major issue. (Why can't fairies take commands while you cast? That's STUPID!- Why can't you have the fairy on a completely controlled mode?... /GAG)

Like I said- relying on a pet was the primary reason I went WHM. I did not trust the AI or UI to be reliable. I am still not completely clear on why splitting your power with a pet is a good idea... especially as a healer, but whatever.

I'm only asking for pet fix first and foremost, then a good buff to succor or what not so we can reliably bring party HP to full without having to cast 2-3 more succors in succession (think the pet's AoE might be able to do this, but never got a chance to actually test it so im not sure. Besides, its CD is relatively high for a HoT-only spell) . WHM keeps its burst healing, which is fine to me. Bard is almost a given in 8m party so the MP management issue is almost moot anyway. WHM still have has to mind AOE threat, SCH has to carefully mic the pet.

edit: here is it, the only AoE beside Succor. http://xivdb.com/?skill/803/Whispering-Dawn It turned out more a terribly pathetic spell than I thought, lol. Too long CD for a too low potency HoT. Althought looks better if you combine it with he other 3-4 CDs of both SCH and fairy (like rouse, the healing potency buff, and magic defense up).

Maybe instead of a buff to succor, they could reduce the CD on the pet heal... that would be more inline with the SCH pet synergy design, but again no matter what they have to fix the pet controls.

Sch has a flawed design atm and that design punishes us in serious content. so far the content is very forgiving healing wise. Up until coil 5 where the true test of healing begins. so sch is passable even just spamming physick is enough to heal large parts of fights.

The pet has too much of our power. Our heals are weaker to compensate around the faerie.But we dont have complete control over the faerie.

I would much prefer if sch had more of the power and the faerie just had more of the utility or just give Sch a much needed rework. Mistakes made by the healers cause wipes. Ai will make more mistakes.

They could seperate each one or two faerie spell into another summon. e.g make a pet just does aoe healing, make a pet that does single target healing ,make a pet that just applies buffs. Make a pet that just removes debuffs.

Se can make them Temporary or permenant and let us use multiple at once or put them into categories where we can only use 1 from each category.

I'm sure there are alot of ideas floating around but i think se needs to just fix the pet first so that people can even see for themselves if the skills, buffs and heals are flexible enough to work. At the end of the day without even being able to put the fairy into practice reliably who is to say its balanced or not. Guess i'm sticking to my white mage for a little bit longer.

first of all dont compare the two classes, they wanted to create class diversity and thats what we got. Making scholar play too similar to a whm would be just cloning the class. Each class should have its own strengths and weakness. As for cross class skills, when more classes are released we should see more customization, because right now there are only 3 disciple of magic classes, so of course we are not going to see a lot of useful cross class skills. I have high hopes that red mage will be released soon.

If sch could cross class medica from conjurer they would be perfect and would need no buffs except some tweaks to faerie ai and bugged pet commands/ui.
Honestly i would be fine with letting whm cross class Aetherflow too.
I think it would balance the two classes better.

The fix that I'd suggest to Succor, which wouldn't make it better than Medica, but make it bearable for aoe healing.

Succor: Heal, same as now, Shield same as now + If the target is not full hp, the shield drains itself refilling the targets hp for the shields amount over the duration of 3-5 seconds (whichever is more balanced)
