I think it's worth pointing out that in the server selection list, I have an "Excellent" connection to a JP server I have a character created on, yet my connection to any NA/EU server is "Poor".
Sounds like some route optimization needs to be done or something.

Ok so I have discovered something that seems to assure me it is not a connection issue.
This is happening so often when I login, I can already tell when it is going to kick me off. So right when everyone seemed to stop moving but me and either the Send / Receive drop to 0 I hit ALT-Tab to get back on the forums. During this time I forgot it was still running in the background and amazingly it didn't drop me.
So when I started playing again, it is as if it connected briefly allowed me to move some what, but I could already tell it was going to kick me off again so I tried ALT-TAB once more. Low and behold I am not getting kicked and apparently when I get back to the game for a brief moment it sends / receive traffic then starts it thing again.
That is the best way to describe it, though may if you all test it out you can see what I mean. For most of us that are already familiar with when its going to kick you, I would try it just to see if it keeps you connected.

When the server is full i'll log back in and keep spamming the login server until it lets me in. However sometimes, it will drop my internet connection to a snail speed and boot me from the game. I have to then restart my modem to get my internet speed back to where it should be.
Does anyone know what is wrong? Why my internet does that. It only happens when i spam the "world server is full" login. My internet connection is always stable when im playing, but when i continously spam it while trying to get into the game it will sometimes drop my connection forcing a reboot of the modem.
Help appreciated!

It's worth putting out there, for me at least, that the problems are happening on both NA/EU and JP servers, regardless of how well I ping to to either.

Bump for visibility, and in the hopes of getting a response from SE.

The problem is right now half the world still cant get on the game. Everyone and their mother is spamming tech support about 90k or 1017. I bet this is getting thrown into the low priority list of problems. But as soon as more people can log on and confirm this is a problem, nothing will be done about it. Guess just have to be patient about it

I've been having a similar problem.
I live in northern Vermont. A tracert to the server returns a * at the 7th hop, which shows as somewhere in Montreal. Ping is averaging somewhere in the 150-200ms range. When I do manage to connect to the server (Behemoth, specifically) I'm not able to keep a connection long - gameplay is very, very laggy and stutters a lot, and I get a LOT of 90000 errors - server kickoffs. Based on my location and the bit of research I did, my connection problem appears to be happening within the data center itself.

Having the exact same issues here on the Masamune Legacy Server.
Whilst I'm playing I can move around and cast/attack things fine and see other people moving about, But after a few minutes or so everything completely stops. I can still move and cast but nothing is received by the server. Eventually everything will come right, and speed forward rather rapidly.
For example: I was attacking a monster with "Stone" on Conjurer. When everything stops I can continue to cast maybe 4-5 times with no damage being done to the enemy. Likewise the enemy does no damage to me either. Once the "lag/latency" is over everything speeds forward and all 4-5 "Stone" spells that I cast inflict damage all at once on the enemy. At the same time all the enemies damage is inflicted on me.
It's quite an issue and when trying to be a healer its definitely not good. lol.
Sometimes when this "stopping" happens (more so then before) the game will quit with a 90000 error. This happened about 5 times during the run of Sastasha Seagrot. Luckily the people I was with were understanding and didn't throw me out. haha
When I was in the Sastasha Seagrot I noticed I could still send and receive messages to and from the party I was with in the chat window on the bottom left even though this "stopping/lag/latency" was happing which is extremely odd.
I am an Oceanic player living down in New Zealand

Update for 8/29: Maybe it was because I wasn't doing a dungeon, but I seemed to be doing okay today. I did a few Fates, and didn't seem to be lagging at all.
Obviously people are still having problems, but maybe it's being worked on as a side effect of whatever they're doing with the capacity issue. No idea. This all being said, if I decide to do a dungeon tomorrow, watch me lag like crazy and cause my party to wipe endlessly.
Bump for visibility.
