There is a post here on the forums showing the new character creation interface. It is 2.0 software that is being used in Alpha. So technically, 2.0 software is currently being released.

Whoever the GM on Ridill is must be having a blast. Sat outside of Uldah on Gungnir for like 2 hours last night and nothing happened.
