A strong WAR shouldn't need a lot of +enmity because their damage should be enough for them to get hate. Paladins, on the other hand, rely more on special abilities to get hate and thuss need the +enmity more. It's honestly a pretty simple concept.

If you have Garuda's Scream, I don't see why you wouldn't but that's not the arguement I've been making. Like I said, I got Garuda's scream on friday night and did that very thing, changed a ring to reach the STR cap. But I was only able to reach that cap because I have triple melded STR gloves, most people don't have such gloves. I think it's probably a toss up which may be cheaper, triple melded STR gloves or a double melded GG axe. I've blown up 40+ pairs of gloves trying to get another pair so that I can also hit the VIT cap, which has cost several million and I still don't have them. Is that cheaper than farming a GG axe for a double meld? Probably not.
Also 0.034 is 3.4% not .34%.
LIke I said earlier, I put the mimimum amount of enmity on the spreadsheet to gain more enmity than on Garuda's Scream. That's a tier II and a III, you could do two Tier IIIs for a larger gain, or as much as two perfect IVs. Regardless of the difference it still doesn't make my claim less valid. As much or more enmity (depending on the meld) is still as much or more enmity.
It was stated earlier in this thread that enmity can cap out at 1 more point than the BLMs, but if that's the percentage that gets you there, that's what's important, because it's the percentage that's gonna keep your BLM from getting eaten.
So your point is that, hypothetically, a colossally inept Warrior with a lot of money but terrible gear who spends his money multi-melding Rage IVs on Giantsgall War Axes instead of putting damage stats on legs/hands will generate slightly more enmity (and still several % less damage) than an equally terribly-geared Warrior with a Garuda's Scream? Well damn, how can I argue with that?
They wouldn't have to be inept, just undergeared but a bit lucky with a GG meld. A new player, or a casual player would fit the bill perfectly. Tying this back into the thread topic, that IS the type of player who skirmish is aimed at, after all. I'm simply playing devil's advocate to disprove an incorrect claim that Garuda's axe is always better than a GG axe. Quit trying to put words in my mouth.
You don't need two Touch of Rage IV, only a II and a IV, or two IIIs. You could get them very cheaply through spiritbonding. Not all materia is bought. You could also get the axe itself from farming skirmish. If you only had a crafted axe, or at best a moogle axe, then the GG axe with +enmity is a very attractive option. Not everyone is as lucky as myself to get Garuda's Scream on thier first win.
On the contrary, I think the fact that you can't see any reason why somebody would want to go that route is pretty inept.
