I never had issues after rolling a new character since she's entirely unlinked from the offending parties. I've since found a new circle to hang with on another datacenter.

She over a year old now and has enough progress that she's multiple times more complete than the character I deleted to cut off the ex BF and online friend group. I even have a house, many capped jobs, and multiple relics. The only thing I'm actually missing is Bozja being completed.

As I said before, I don't know if this is an RP faux pas or if it's genuinely just being upset about losing progress when rolling an alt/new character. I get the latter entirely but I do not regret deleting a years old character and starting over for my mental health.

I would really love to hear the other side to this.
It's been 5.5 years, there has to be more to it.

Yeah, I faced a stalking problem from a former ex-FC officer and it encouraged me to leave the old DC then do a paid transfer along with re-naming my Wol before they added DC visiting so far it's been fine and I'm glad I could escape them for years now.

Typically, if it's that bad, it would mean to delete the original character, then re-roll on a different DC/world server, along with then hiding your lodestone ID set to private only from the start so no one could find them. Is it worth it? YMMV if FFXIV is a big part of your life, and I get it sucks since you'd lose all the MSQ progress along with collected stuff, and on top of that would be for the cash shop stuff unless it's mounts BUT you could have a chance to escape your stalker too.

He was temp banned for 2 weeks for abusive behavior and mods, for those wondering. The most obvious "do not do this" rule breaking in public you could possibly do.

This same streamer who berated staff (VA) and called them some colorful names? Sure, criticism was the ban, keep grasping at straws. He is a major contributor to the toxic environment fostered in this game. Its better without him.

Nah man. My incident occurred because at the time I didn't know you could opt out of follows and shit on the lodestone (iirc that was somewhat new when I came back?) I'm thinking my "stalkers" saw activity via that and went to intercept.

I was livid since it was literally within 2-3 days of me coming back to the game and on a different server and I wasn't having any of that malarkey following me around while trying to acclimatize to the game again after a year+ of being away. So yeah, I summoned GM intervention as it was within my right to do so. It apparently worked, along with blacklisting and ignoring any advances thereafter that.

I just don't assume that result was purely down to the preventative measures I undertook, I do believe the GMs might've done something to help that process along (or would like to). Either way I can't complain. I've had overall pretty okay results whenever I've had a GM get back to me. It's just with the PvP side of things I really can't verify if it was just empty cordiality that took place versus actual action.

And I mean my anecdotal episode there kinda goes a little towards proving not all the weird ass behaviour stems from some romantic misadventure lol, as some here are lead to believe. Some may be karma farming but some of them are also unfortunately real. The kind that follows you across servers or even DCs. Personally not seen this before until this MMO, not over PvE that's for sure.
