Hunts aren't huge on siren during my hours, they still aren't. I also sense "entitlement" to something which effort hasn't really been put in to obtain. It is to say 'you haven't really deserved something if you haven't put effort into obtain it'.

The two aren't comparable because no one in-game can interfere with my ability to clear potd solo. It is a function of my own free time and skill.

Actually that is the thing ddos is a thing and according to se was a problem during the first two weeks of causing server interruptions, which would indeed effect your ability to clear potd solo, but hey this thread is about hunts lets keep it that way.

No i didn't HAVE to. I didn't want to do any other content in the game to begin with lol (I might have quit if I hand't found the 'fun' of S ranks, some might callit boring or tedious rng). Popping S ranks is the only thing that keeps me logging in, otherwise I'd go play another MMO). I don't like dungeons, I don't like raiding, I don't even like beastment dailies or stuff like Gold Saucer. I do enough to keep being able to qualify for content as it comes out (in case for whatever reason I'm feeling productive and want to run an EXR). I did the current 24 man like twice and will be lucky to q for that before reset. I don't care about mounts. MAAAYBE a little about minions and a little about crafting.

I will confess that my favorite times in WoW was when the big Galleon and/or TRex w/lazors popped and hundreds of playes including the other side would zone in and mass chaos ensue. To a lesser extent I liked hunting rares like TLPD

So I guess it can be summed up as: I like open world content/bosses

Don't get me wrong, you're free to enjoy whatever content you want to enjoy, I'm just explaining why getting this mount is almost impossible for someone who plays a reasonable amount of time.

Why use the term "sniped"? I mean, is it dick-ish they didn't call it out for others to possibly show up? Yes. But are they entitled to tell others if they find a hunt? No.

I'm not condoning the behavior but hunts were never meant to be zerged anyhow.

The term "sniped" is usually used to refer to a hunt that is both not called and not reported on the tracker.

It's largely the latter aspect that annoys me, because it often becomes a vicious cycle where the S rank is repeatedly killed without being called/reported for several spawns in a row.

The main issue I have with this achievement is that we have no guarantee we will have hunts in two years. The zones freak out if forty people gather for a hunt now, and I can't see them continuing to have things that force so many players into a small place. Hunts and boss fates are the biggest offenders of this. When they make very long-term achievements, there is no guarantee that they can remain doable or continue to exist if they need to revise the game. So they shouldn't make them take generally longer than a year of play.

Because this was a requested mount from a lot of people, yet thanks to the requirements most of those that asked for it will never see it. Also other then the PVP rewards, nothing in this game is that hard to get and it breeds even more toxicity in hunting thanks to the need to kill so many S ranks while at the same time most of the older ones die way too fast.

I mean why is it fine that some content can be done unsynch thus mounts and stuff from savage are obtainable by the casual players yet this one achievement should stay as it was just that some handful of people can have their special reward. I mean even cutting it down by half the numbers would not mean that the whole server would run around with this.

(We are losing our veteran rewards because it took too long to get so why should something like that stay so out of reach for the majority of the player base? Also creating an mount just for a bunch of people is also not that good for the budget.)

Also just a tip: you can edit your post and thus bypass the 1000 limit. This way you can have everything in one post.

1st, thanks for the tip!
2nd, i agree on the fact about how many ppl requested this mount and then how many ppl will never get it for themselves. yet someone who owns it thinks he has the right to say its not impossible (well,...you did get it, right?) and that we should stop crying. the FACT many ppl asked for it and the FACT many people will NEVER get it, is the point being discussed here (even though it might have been formulated differently by OP)... and maybe not how special you are that u got it and the rest doesnt. All i did was throwing in some options yet i felt i got some critique my way from said person who owns one. I never agreed or disagreed; just gave some options.

I still stand behind what i said about 'what i think' post and that SE actually shouldve given a different mount for this. Maybe a super massive mount that shifts forms every time you call it- the forms will be the S' of course! yet they failed in supplying the demand in a correct way and kinda did; here is your tiger mount, have FUN getting it! /shantottolaugh (< when are getting that emote btw?)
