I've been using embolden between the 2nd and 3rd parts of my melee combo to ensure that both my enchanted redoublement and flare/holy are under the full 20% effect. I'm not sure if this is better than having all 3 parts of the melee combo at 20% and the flare/holy at something like 16% or 12%, but it's probably simple math to figure out.

I had a blast farming Suzy EX last night on RDM and seemed to be crushing everyone on the charts. This probably had a lot to do with my pocket DRG buffs, but I'm a little scared that RDM will be overpowered from a raw output perspective. More raid data needed!

I haven't done any Raids yet, but I am seeing the same thing... the DPS output is incredible.

BLM is slightly higher, but in movement intensive places which is almost everything... it can't keep up. Enochian was supposed to be always on... but it doesn't work that way. It's still based on a OCD. Once you break Enochian it's done... everything as a BLM revolves around it. So basically Yoshi fibbed.

RDM though, the output at least up to level 63 is incredible and that's in all dungeons both level 50 and 60 and 70th.

I think you're right: Enchanted Zwerch is only 290 potency, so it's basically at your average. It's better to increase your biggest hits when you have the choice. But that does assume you aren't holding on to embolden very long and "wasting" uptime on it, you have to math that out more specifically.

I mean, Transpose's CD is a second shorter than umbral ice and astral fire's timer. So...you could literally run around all day just swapping back and forth via Transpose and never lose enochian.
In practice it is clearly somewhat harder, but if you're planning a bit ahead it is much, much easier now,

Thank you so much for assembling this! Red Mage is the first DPS class I've been really excited to pick up, and I've been referencing your guide as I work on my rotations and flow. =)

I'm in a car with low data, so i cant really search each thread. They have since updated Flare and Holy since the media build. If black mana equals white mana, flare and Holy seem to get the proc. Unless my 20% proc has been super kind to me... Anyone else confirm with 70 rdm?

I think RDM will be a good job for learning phases in raids, since they can be an off-off-healer. They also have dualcast easy raises.

But in the end BLM will be a better job for endgame.

We won't know till we see the fights and see what the mechanics are like. BLM still relies a lot on planning in advance so you are not moving a lot. SMN is still the movement battle king with the DoTs, pet, and Ruin 2 as well as instant cast Shadowflare now. RDM is some where in between that from my experience.

BLM is still proabably going to be top dps if given the chance to go all out, but we shall have to wait and see once Omega comes out.

I there one of these for other jobs, like DRG? Or do the calculations for secondary stats apply the same?

I've been doing some thinking. Apoc is a very powerful skill, but its kinda niche. Unless I'm sure a fight has a Mdmg buster of hell its kinda unnecessary mitigation, since Cure II/coupled with other healing will probably top the tank or party member off.

Instead i've been running with Mana Shift. It's got some fun utility. Sending a low healer MP, topping a plds mana off for Requiscat, giving the BLM a wtf moment when they can flare again.

Both have their uses but i feel mana shift has more raw utility in the choices you have with it and a lower cd.

Lucid
Swiftcast
Addle
Erase [I love it too much xD]
Mana Shift

I'll know how i feel about it after I see a fight that can make rdm go dry without raising.

Primals are one thing, but RDM only has lucid dream for mana managment. It doesn't seem wise to be kicking your mana off to others in a raid-type fight, in particular when the others, like BLM and PLD have strong mana regen capability anyway.
