How would identify a female player guy/girl?

I don't view these things as deceit unless it's a guy pretending to be a girl just to get loot from people then that's quite an issue. I don't exactly know this person or know the full story between you two but there could be more to him than you were willing to understand.

Not really, me and my friend use it a lot this, and we are both females (even if our characters are male); i so many times run up and down in front of the house while waiting for DF and she does the same :)

(edit: but we also don't hide that we are two females playing two male characters)

Finding partners in MMOs is becoming more common now. It's exactly the same as it would be meeting someone any other way, you don't know if you actually want to pursue a relationship with someone until you know them well, at which point their character's gender is moot. Just treat everyone the same regardless, it's not like it matters. My partner's character is a catgirl, that didn't stop me becoming friends with him and then moving towards something more as we spent more time together.

About 80% of my fc is male, but the majority play female characters. People play whatever they think looks best!

(As an aside, the point about jumping around is totally true! The number of times I've been stood waiting to raid and pretty much all 7 static members are derping around jumping from place to place .... =P)

If want to find some real dating partner why don't you go find it on real life instead? no risk at all, there is lot of options there.
That is the reason I go to GYM for a perfect abs, working so hard to get a nice job, save up money to buy a big house and cool cars. (not fully achieved yet actually.. still long way to go)

Games is a place for you to chill and have fun... Don't bother with the gender issue.

and BTW.. there is a lot of software out there you can use to change your voice...

Well I have friends who identify as a girl in real life and online, but not sure if this was the case with this guy. He never fully told me the truth, but he would lie about his life a lot. Like boyfriend troubles, and lied about being mute (for he didn't have to TS). I feel like he didn't truly view me as a friend because of his stories even though we played and talked for over a year. After I caught his lies I started thinking 'bullshit' every time he tried to talk to me in the future.
He deletd his account soon after, I think he makes different online persona's because he told a friend of mine a different background story (job/school/ect)

Simply put, if your character is a female then I will treat you as if you were a female in game. I will tell you that you look pretty and flirt with you. Which I'm sure will make you feel strange if you are a male controlling that female character. So watch out, you may want to reconsider fantasia'ing yourself to a male as to not confuse others and get tired of people thinking you are a girl. Just play your sex already, it's 2015. Be normal.

So OP, IMHO it doesn't really matter. You'll probably never meet anyone from Eorzea in the real world so it makes no difference, and if you do end up meeting someone then I suspect it'll be because you've become actual friends in which case you'll already know or again, it won't matter.

Unfortunately, it will always matter. People are naturally curious of what your rl sex is, whether they choose to admit it. Psychologically, it is how humans relate and become attracted to another. Whether you be gay, straight, even asexual.

We don't all fall into nicely packaged catagories ya know. We arnt all healers, we arent all dressed conservative and we all don't fit into nicely packaged "you must do/be/wear this this and this" to be a female gamer. We are as diverse as any gamer, regardless of sex.
