o.O Overkill on the crafting Dumb down?

Perfect !! As a Carpenter, it was a pain in the *** to make a low lvl Lance that required a high level armor part.
The only ones crying are the people with multiple high lvl crafts. lol
It was retarded that it took me at least 5 others synths in order to make such a simple equipment like a Hempen Doublet.

But i agree that high lvl recipes should be more complicated than that.

I do not deny that the system was over bearing and needed parts reductions but come on people. No more crafting facilities? No more sub crafts? Neither of those things were extensively necessarily and at least gave a little depths to the classes. I mean Facilities were literally the only reason to stop crafting for a minute so you could get up and reacquire your facility.

And when I saying Mind-numbingly dumbed down I mean, to craft in this game you press X repeatedly. There is no use for anything but standard synth.

What they should have done was put Guild facilities in the hamlets instead of leaving them empty.

Next thing you know they are going to be removing Crafting Manuals.

My problem with crafting was that it took too much time to do everything. I guess the SP was one of the problems but the amount you had to do for one item is just annoying. I hate having to look around for this one item when I could be doing something else. And don't get me wrong I LOVE crafting. Literally love doing it. When i sit there and craft I don't do anything else like watching tv. I just craft. I like sitting and crafting (I know weird right?) But getting to that point takes way too long for me. For a battle class (which is one of the main reasons my battle classes are all 20+ and my crafts arnt), I can get from 10-20 within a couple hours. But with a craft it takes me much longer, even when I'm doing a leve, once the leves done I have to run to the camp to turn it in and if i dont have anima it can take alot of time. Most of the time running around feels like wasted time, so maybe with these changes there wont be so much running around involved and I'll finally be able to sit and craft.

I agree that the changes are slightly extreme, but like I said in my other post, everything can be changed. Its not like once this is implemented it will stay the same way forever. If it was then how in the world did we get here?!? Changes cant happen?!

Oh your complain with carp 100% agree and it's one most people seem to have backed to be Fix'd :p
But still you might need a hi level nugget to make it, so still needing that hi level item!

I think a lot of the changes a great but the removeal of parts i think may make it much harder to lvl crafts which may lead to moving crafts from main to sub classes. they either have to add more items to craft or make the lowering of sp as you get higher from lvl of an item much slower.

Dont think they're dropping crafting facilities from the game just the the need for them they'll be in the game but it will be more like 11 where the just make it easier the craft.

I remember this poll. It was huge! Not sure if you stared after this but yes, there was a poll and it happened I wanna say January this year..brain farting and can't remember but it was more then the one or two months ago you mentioned. ;)

I'm sorry if it really dampers your want of how crafting should be Esk, :( , but, there seems to be a little bit of loss here and there for all of us. ;)

Removing sub crafts and the facilities were really unnecessary.
But, i believe that's just a temporally thing.

All i have to say is when you Q.Q you get what you asked for XD

Been here since beta.
I was talking about detailed ideas once they have some they want to move forward with, not just were gona change stuff.. Then poof here you go!
They have no idea what people were thinking and I doubt more then 10% thought anything alike when they answered that question at the time.
I was think I'd love to see the world more dark, sinister and hostile, with classic FF style content and weapons (FFV/VIII)..
I knew it wouldn't happen like that, but we needed changes and more so we needed content and a better direction.

I'm not a crafter really I find it to slow for my taste.
(and this change will do nothing to improve or change that at all)
But I don't want to see the game dumbed down to the point where the people i enjoy playing with that primarily craft are leaving.
(an they will most likely be leaving, as SE will probably go ahead with this)
And to them this isn't a small loss, its like the DoW/M being told you can use cross class skills, or we get only 1 class and have to go to a town to change classes.

I agree with the removal of the facilities and said as much. The sub crafts...meh maybe. I like the idea of needing to learn and additional craft in order to make an item as it adds the "realisim" we all like to see in a game but the way it was done was a$$ backwards. You either have time on your hands or you have been playing since launch with no break or maybe you did but you have a lot of time to play. That's apparent from your profile, but don't start flaming the devs because unfortunately, your wants got caught in the cross fire. Yo MUST Have voted during the poll that given so you knew eventually SOMETHING drastic was going to happen. Crafting is usually NOT the reason people pruchase a MMO, for soem it is. This gives BOTH groups the ability to join this game and enjoy it.
