Okay dude, relax. People had reason to question it. He said that before the release of the release of the video so their concern was justified.
But I think I hear the translation-only-post police coming, so we should be on our way.

Oh yeah btw, where is good place to do 'free' live transcripts aside from google docs if any??
Just curious... dunno if I can be up for the next live but gonna try again... need to get used to translating faster or someone go in SE's office and turn off their device every now and then so I have enough time to translate before they keep on going and going lol.
I think you typing in Google docs is about as "live" as you can get, seeing as people can watch you type as you do it. I don't know if there's something similar that's laid out better or anything. The reps use twitter to update, but even then you're not really seeing that in real time, and sometimes the wording between what you do and what they do is a little different. (i.e. you seem to do a literal translation whereas their translation seems to summarize and get the general point across)
Besides starting up a chat room (which without setting chat permission up first would be messy) I think google docs is your best bet.
And if you're not available at the live time someone could always download the stream and send it to you for translation later :D (We needs you!!!)
I dont want to wait two weeks for SE to translate it XD lol
Yeh GDocs is your best bet as you have been doing it from now on.
For XIVPads I always had the twitters up which have real time updating on their widgets but they sometimes miss questions and because of twitter limits they have to post it on twitter-long and link to it, which slows the process even more, and still they summarize, when they don't summarize there is a lot of lag.
They also post just answers and questions and don't explain what is being shown on screen or if there is an interval they don't mention it which is a little frustrating.
What would be neat that I was thinking of doing was having the video embedded on my website and then to the right of it the xivpads chat and then your google doc sheet in an iframe so it was visibly updated, be coolio XD
Here's some alternatives that use etherpads code base http://etherpad.com/. I'm not sure how well they work so you might want to check them out before hand. Another Option you could do would be to use niconico (http://www.niconico.com/) and just screen share a text editor directly from your computer.
I looked at piratepad (listed at the etherpad site) and it should be perfect for this. When inviting people, you have the choice between giving them full or read-only access. The link differs between the two, so you won't have people suddenly editing stuff if you give us the read-only link.
Just tried out piratepad, pretty nice, wonder if it has limitations like gdocs where once it hits 50 viewers (including myself) it starts kicking random people + locks me up sometimes. I like how it has time lapse vid showing how it was made lol.

2 posts today but both nothing really special
http://goo.gl/0Z6mj - Just JP translation of the NA rep post saying it's OK to uninstall he client as ARR client will be different but make sure to backup the folder to keep current character data to load character data into the benchmark software.
http://goo.gl/Wzv3n - Regarding the Eorzea Memories contest - saying some modification to the images are fine as long as it's something like those already posted (on JP side) - Noticed some posting multiple images when it says 1 and some images larger than the limit :(

I'll do it here, for testing if anyone available right now if you guys can just click so we can see if there is any max limit.
If it's less than 50 I'll create one on google doc and try it on that one as usual.
Google Doc Link : https://docs.google.com/document/d/1...dJUnitzpE/edit
Thanks.
EDIT: 00:37 - this stuff doesn't show how many is actually viewing... orz
EDIT2: 00:48 switching to google doc - made it public so should be able to handle more viewers I think...
i see you typing!
I can see whatever's currently in the doc on Piratepad, Rein.
Here's the google doc link - https://docs.google.com/document/d/1...dJUnitzpE/edit
I'll update the previous post as well.
Yeah, can see you typing just fine.
Thanks in advance for the translations.
Google or the PiratePad, which to use?
The ridiculousness of what you're about to do for us Rein...
I thank you.
Coffee! This is madness! I need to stare blankly at your google Doc knowing you are there always!
Question: it was mentioned somewhere around here, but right now I can't find the post, that the live stream is not viewable everywhere. Where exactly is it viewable, and is there an alternative stream, like xivpads, put in place for those who aren't able to view it?
i have the link to the video on the live doc I'm editing here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1...dJUnitzpE/edit
But the youtube stream link is here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L46pME-OC1Y&feature=plcp
Official Q/A rep posts will be on this thread per Bay : http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/threads/57667
