How are you being punished for using the name that you chose? That's not a feature of the game at all. This is saying you are being punished because you can't use a flightstick to play the game.

Dont get scammed and try to ruin everyone else's choices then.

The statement has been made, they want to offer it to us. I'm going to use this feature should I feel my new character look does not suit it.

That's not what I said. No-one is being 'punished' for choosing their name, they're being given an optional service to change if they want. I don't see why you're crying over spilt milk about something that's going to happen whether you like it or not.


Some people may have chosen a gender specific or lore-specific name for their character, which wouldn't fit a new race (cue the Fantasia potions), so they may want to change names.

Square Enix aren't going to remove a service because a few 'bad people' change their name.

I suggest this a possibly but put-in-effort on a players part. 20K GC seals to change name after you get a 3rd promotion.

I approve this post! But seriously, people need to get off their high horse and relax. Name changes, character recustomization, phials of fantasia, server transfers. None of this is cash shop stuff. While I agree there does not need to be a cash shop there is no reason to NOT have to pay for this. You look at any game that does these specific item/services and every one of them charges for it. Rift. WoW. These two for example you pay 10-25 based on what service you get and possibly more. It is a great way for them to HELP prevent abuse of this feature. It goes as far as limiting it to every 30 days to 6 months. Stop complaining about cash shop because it is not going to go that way. Atleast we hope not and start actually looking at what is wanted rather then what you think it wanted. I have read every post in this thread and honestly there are many posts that just make me want to facepalm and then proceed to rip my eyes out because some of these comments make my head hurt. Relax.

There is no ETA, just that it's planned.

So the thread has worked, we just abide our time and wait for now.

(Most likely prior to the new race HOPEFULLY way before that)

Well I'm highly unsatisfied with the response from SE support. What kind of 'tech issues' prevents you restoring something over 10 days ago? Heck they didnt say we could DO restores until recently.

Terrible service. :/ Want to change today, not in 3 months, not in 6 months, today. Hate looking at my char lol.

Yes I'm hoping my fantasia can be restored. Pretty sure I made the ticket at about 7 days so I'm hoping. If not I hope I can buy one sooner rather than later.

I'd imagine its due to the massive amount of transactions and item changes that happen every-single-day, that they decided to set a limitation, even if it doesn't suit us.

Seeing as they've announced an opportunity for us to purchase one later, I'm not fretting over it too much, my Male Miqo'te or Male Highlander can wait a while.

Pretty much this. It's great and all that they have more fantasia opportunities planned, but it really needs to happen sooner, and not in 2+ months.

My FC leader took 2 weeks for a reply and his potion back from the restoration.
So it's past 10 days, I asked about mine 7 days ago, and I asked again today, I am hoping to get a response.
Reddit tells me someone had overall 8 days, got a response ina hour and a potion to boot. Unsure if they had used theirs 2+ days ago as it would of been void by then anyways.
So the whole 10 day story may be untrue. I'll get back you all when or if I get a response.

Well I used mine in Late September, I didn't know about the item restoration policy.

So, I was told it wasn't possible, hopefully this isn't the case.

Yea didn't know either, well I contacted support desk anyways so we'll see how it goes.

I really hope you can get another one somehow quick - getting only 1 is just really mean if you regret the change after 2 weeks!

That's a good measure for a single time mistake, but I'd still like to know if they're planning to make the potions available in the 2.1 patch or earlier.

Eeeeeh, it kinda does. Giving people a way in-game to change their appearance without a HUGE cost will turn it into a monetized item that people will sell at a premium (and or cultivate numbers of them).

When you have people changing race every-day, it does break the consistency.

Regardless of the acquisition method, there has to be a certain limitation on it as with server-transfers and name-changes, such as a high-price or a timed cooldown.

By the time it is taking all of us to get a response...it'll be far more than a week.

Twenty dollars is fucking ridiculous. The entire damn game cost thirty. Be reasonable. To prevent abuse?

If someone abused this ten times a day it wouldn't affect a single one of the lot of you. If these cost more than ten dollars it'll be a joke. If that.

This is an option for a personal comfort. This isn't some unique elite piece of gear, even vanity gear. 95% of the people on your server won't even know you ever used a bottle. It's absurd to charge that much for a personal and unique boost that benefits the heart and mind more than the game itself.

It's not mandatory, so really they can charge what they want for it, but no-where has it been stated that it'll cost $20.
Server trasfers are $18, so i'd imagine apperance/name changes to be less, probably 10-15$

Right, personal comfort costs money. Look at how much we all pay everyday for Quality of Life (QoL) perks.
It's not outrageous that once every few years I drop $20 to make my character something new, maybe a new race that came out I think's really cool and really don't want to relevel everything up on a brand new character.

Think about that, $20 for the ability to change characters one that lets assume whenever this happens you might have all classes up to level cap (even assume half of them). That's A LOT of time you just saved NOT leveling. If time = $$.... $20 is cheap for a game like this. May be a bit pricey for some other games where you can only level 1 class on 1 character, but all your time/effort's isolated into one spot in this game. At least, the majority of people's time/efforts are anyway.

Yeah I'm thinking 10 bucks maaaaybe 15....Sorry, no 25-30 and all that. I'm just not wanting to spend $35~$40 in a single month for the game.
If it was $20, I'll make damn sure I am 100% happy...Well I was happy with my Miqote but the Lalafells were too kawaii man. :(
