Petition: Magitek Armor Tune

I will not reiterate what has already been said about "..worst excuse ever.." nor about "...uuummmm there are MANY other specific lore references used already..."

What I will do is Re-BUMP to keep this request known.

Yes. The reason given is pretty asinine. Just give us Terra's theme for the magitek mount already.

Please just give us what we want, this is becoming extremely annoying now...

I love this music when on my unicorn and maybe goobue, but suprised to see it matched to magitek. I don't have magitek yet but I can see that it might need a different kind of tune for it.

Buuumping this thread of great justice against a great injustice of lame excuses that don't hold up!

Have to chime in on this one. I'm not really angry nor have I been active in this thread since its creation, but that is the worst excuse you could have given. You teased the release of the Magitek with the song, and even a video with LIKENESSES of those characters over a year ago, but yet its not FFXIV centric?Why tease it like that then say no when the fans want/expect it? Hypocritical without question. There are countless examples in this game with throwback type character/content. I can understand if you don't want to apply it to the story mount, but restricting it from the gold one or even a new one in the near future is downright disappointing.

Remember Yoshida's words:

"FFXIV will be a fanservice title."

So that little "reenactment" was the fanservice pretty much :p

That link is an article about studies done on nostalgia.

And then comes the best part!

You have to put that music with that mount. You will be improving everyone's mood and mental health. Players will be less depressed and more charitable to their fellow players. The lives of everyone playing this game will be made better. It is your moral duty, then, to get that tune in the game. 2 million+ lives depend on it.

The lore team should reconsider their decision. As pointed before:

1- FF II battle music.
2- Labyrinth of the Ancients featuring Acheron. FFIII. Music included.
3- Syrcus Tower, featuring all the Eureka's bosses and Xande. FFIII. Music included.
4- Several weapon's names from other FFs.
5- Lightning FATE events. FF XIII (Theme: Blinded by light included). Even if it's a promotional spot, it does count!
6- Gilgamesh FFV and his battle theme.
7- The mandragora guys from FFXII, part of the Hildy's questline in 2.3.

I can actually see where they're coming from... Terra's Theme and the Magitek Mount are only loosely related, it was the overworld theme if memory servers. The Magitek in FFVI didn't have a specific theme like Crystal Tower did.

That said, the current music for the Magitek Mount is just horribly out of place. If Terra's Theme is a no go, then like someone suggested earlier; this is perfect, considering you wasted the chance to put it in Praetorium during the Magitek Research Facility section (Oh wait, we're on Magitek Mounts for that section, so it could play over the regular Praetorium theme too!).

I was imagining that when I would get the Magitek mount that it would actually play Terra's theme what a disappointment when I just heard the same music that plays when I ride the Coeurl mount.

Please add this theme to the Magitek mount

FF's have reoccuring characters/weapons/music/themes. Add the music like your players want, screw what you guys want. What you guys wanted was a terrible game anyway, take a note and maybe listen to what the players want, or come up with a compromise like a piece of music that is reminiscent of it.

Chocobo music is adapted and remixed across numerous editions of Final Fantasy. Some basic tune, but some very very different versions of that tune (I'm looking at you FFXIII). So why can't we go along with Terra's theme, but remix it so that it's "unique" to FFXIV?

That's the thing...it was basically remixed in that teaser.

Now that we're going to be able to unlock our armor's weapons outside of Prae, I really, really want to hear some rendition of Devil's Lab playing while riding it around.

They went out of their way to give us the fat chocobo theme for the fat chocobo mount, so if we can't have the revamped Terra's theme, at least something out of Final Fantasy VI, given the mount is blatantly copied out of that game. FFXIV is more or less the Walt Disney World of Final Fantasy, with references from at least half the existing titles in one shape or another (not to mention a completely legit visit from the main character of another title), and chock full of pop-cultural references. Heck, Warrior of Light helm is like the game's version of the mickey-mouse ear cap...

I forgot about that remix of the FFVI theme in the Live Letter VI! I would love it to be the Magitek Mount Theme and would turn my mount music back on for that!

The reasoning behind Terra's Theme being used is the fact that the opening of Final Fantasy VI had her riding to Narshe alongside Biggs and Wedge during the opening credits. As far as theme's go in the Final Fantasy world, this one is extremely iconic.

Yes please! Would definitely love to hear this tune for the magitech mount. It would actually give me a reason to use the magitech mount.

I'd like the song, but not the version from the trailer... I actually rather dislike that arrangement..

The one from Distant Worlds would be ideal, really.
