The GPU is pretty old, yeah. 2007, I think? It's still performing quite well on medium/high settings, so if the drivers didn't start to crash recently, it would still be usable. Totally no money for a new one so I'm praying this one holds out until I can get a new one. I think the 660 GTX isn't enough of an upgrade to be honest, I'd probably go for a Ti if I had the money. Though recently I've been thinking of going AMD the next round.

I am using this one since March/April and I am pretty happy! It's cooling is just <3 (<- I paid 210€ for it, and Mindfactory says the old price was at 227€!)
Max. 50°C while playing FF. But note, that I don't play on Maximum settings.
It was either the 7870 or the 660 (both ASUS), because I thought anything much higher would be 1. too expensive 2. too much for my CPU (Phenom II X4 955 3,2GHz).

There is also this Gigabyte 660 for a decent price ^^

@Coris: turns out it's not my gpu but my cpu. The crashes didn't stop even after replacing my gpu with my brother's , so it's the cpu. I don't get why it passes 4 hours of prime95 without errors when OCd, and all other programs except ffxiv work fine, but the game crashes pretty consistently after about an hour. Returning to default clocks stopped it. So I guess the overclock is not stable enough for ffxiv.

And just when I was finally able to play longer than a few hours, I tab out of fullscreen, tab back and it crashes. (╯°□°）╯︵ ┻━┻
I thought it was supposed to be fixed with 2.0? Borderless fullscreen is fine, cause it's not exclusive mode, but exclusive fullscreen keeps randomly crashing.

(btw, I really hope they fix the servers cause all this is putting a huge damper on an otherwise very enjoyable game)

Phieuw... Today was the 2nd time that i wasn't able to log in since i got back from the Gamescom. But, it was not that i was bored or anything. I've recently been promoted as "officer" in a Free Company of a good friend of mine. We've been discussing Ranks, rules, promotions etc with the rest of the officers, so i suggested setting up a "Shared Online Google Folder" in which we could create documents and spreadsheets for the company.

While i was at the office today, i started thinking on how to arrange and manage such a "Shared Online Google Folder" and still being able to play tonight. After 40 minutes of trying to log in (to no avail unfortunately) a *lightbulb* suddenly appeared above my head and i thought "Now is a good time to get that folder sorted out!".

4 1/2 hours later... Tada! A shiney shared folder with a "Feedback"-form, a "Words of Praise"-form, a "Report an incident"-form and an example of a "Member Evaluation"-form (all of them automatically save the responses in a seperate spreadsheet).

I never OC'd anything. Too afraid to break it.
Always playing in windowed mode since.. uhm... I think 2008, when I started playing Lineage 2 xD I'm glad that I could adjust the window size to the edges. In 1.0 I wasn't able to do that.

(I do too. All the whining annoys me more than the actual errors ;/ Especially those on the german forums, still asking for compensation. It is hard to read I guess. [One guy even wants his security token to be replaced xD Lol'd at that...])

I finished the WAR Quests yesterday and I have to admit that I struggled with the fight. Wrong combos ._. Well, now I know and it seems wayyy easier and more fun to play this Job!
Don't know yet which Class quests I am doing next but I am also doing the Main Story and Carpenter stuff. Again having a hard time with that HQ bow, meh.

:O Is it available? Where do you start/get on track now?

Can't play the game, can't stalk Hesty on his server. /lifeover ._.

yeah that's the part I don't get. it did work - and then it just stopped. and it especially doesn't make any sense at all since I didn't change a thing with the 1.0 client. I downloaded the 2.0 client and that somehow changed the 1.0 client, too. it makes zero sense, but since xfire no longer has forums I have no idea where to ask (they don't allow posts on their wall on facebook, either)

About the only thing you could break when OCing is by raising the voltage too much. I tried going as far as it would run (what i thought was) stable without raising the voltage but not further. As soon as it goes unstable, you have to start raising voltage, and I don't really want to, cause it increases heat, power consumption and decreases the lifetime. Once the servers are stabilized, I'm going to experiment with the clock some more.

That said, I managed to get as far as meeting Minfilia today, so I guess that's enough progress.

I guess they didn't update it for ARR then, the ffxivgame.exe is now in the game folder, ffxiv.exe

Hay i know im new to 14 and all but i thing this needs to be back at the top of the list sadly to meany people are fighting about the login problems and not about making this a better game i am certain that square soft is doing everything they can to fix things and its not helping them to yell and well ya.


btw i know its not square soft but i like that better then square enix



ps can i request somebody draw a chibi of my avatar I prefer crafting to combat so if you want gear suggestions what im wearing is so far my favorite.

It was the first Studio Ghibli film I've seen, and I must've seen it 20 or so times after that.

I'm 49 too, could've gotten it last night but decided to finish up the main story.

Was up to 2am doing that, with half of the party being the worst the duty finder had to offer....ah but I digress.

The ending was great! Loved the story and I can't wait for more.

Now I can start up A Relic Reborn. Question is though....Scholar or White Mage.

I haven't played scholar yet, but does anyone know if your mind stat affects the fairy's healing. If not maybe you could go cleric stance and be dps while your fairy heals. Probably not the way to go for harder dungeons but it could be interesting with all the dots avaialbe.

Finally got by to my GC and to my old look (i wonder when the avatar will update). But now it turns out GC gear changes so heavily my looks is crappier than the AF stat wise :x

Yeah, it seems that some changes are quite drastic. Take for instance the Giantsgall weapons. They are really good now, equal/better than primal stuff from what i've seen/heard.

They are lv70 weapons now and they have 2 materia slots too.

Still haven't slotted my Cane but i'll probably put 2 LV4 Mind Materia in there.

Victory! Got bard unlocked just before maintenance!

ACN 50, story mostly complete and both AF body for SCH and SMN gots. Very productive day before maint. :3

Been a while since I posted here, so bump, for great justice.

I recently crafted myself a Vintage Senechal Coatee, mostly to help my level 40ish crafters reach 50. Managed to HQ it rather easily.

That's when I decided to check what kind of materia I could drop into it. 3 slots, fitted a +5 craftsmanship, +3 control and +2 cp.

HQ level 44 Coatee + those 3 materias? Actually ends up 1 craftsmanship and 1 control above my level 50 class-specific bodies.

That... came as a huge surprise. I can use it so much earlier, on all jobs, and get such great performance, for something that required linen and a base item that sells for about 500 gil on Sargatanas.

I'm a bit at a loss for words here. I love my JSE, they look awesome. But I also need as many control and craftsmanship I can get my hands on, if I am to craft better gear.

Guess I'll have to start trying to HQ myself more gear, since the NQ are now essentially trash gear to be materia'd...

Oh, its that thread I couldn't post in for months. :O!

Started leveling MRD after being fed up with the lack of tanks using Duty Finder.

You might not get the results you would like from a MND4 materia. Grade 4 materia requires item level 75 and as you said Giantsgall is only 70. Are there even item level 75+ equipment that can be slotted? I haven't looked at the Vany set, so that might be one.

I've been able to slot some 4 materia. There's grade 5 carbonized matter, too. so it has to go somewhere...
