Things like this wont happen if he is in a instanced battle where getting stomped only has the penalty of getting kicked out of the fight so you can mash your head against the wall until he falls.

I would expect no less than a day.

If they put it in IR could make it where you can't kill it but have to run the hell away from it until you reach next room.

And in future patches add another IR where you have to go in and actually try and take it down.

This is for Omega but - Kind of like FF5 first time you pass by most would try to avoid Omega but later on when you can play around leveling char up to try Omega/Shinryu

As long as casuals and.. uhh.. bad players have plenty to do after 2.0 relaunch they have no room to complain if there's some things beyond them. In XI I had Cerb, Nidhogg, Tia, Jailers, etc.

And so I didn't feel inclined to spam whine about Absolute Virtue.

Lots of content for everyone does not mean all content is for everyone.

Naw all they have to do is make him a gear-check. Balance him around triple melded gear, and an airtight strategy. Heck if you want you could balance him around the 5-meld cap. That might be way excessive though.

Agreed. SE please take this guys idea. he speaks the truth.

It's really cool and SE has all the room in the world to work as many weapons as they like into the story...
In the opening movie there was an insane amount of enemies fleeing in shooting star fashion.

Hydaelyn is no Gaia (FFVII)... when this planet is threatened, they don't conjure up a few weapons... they send a F%^King legion of Bosses...

Anything is possible they didn't actually show the face, waist area so could be Gaius Van Baelsar or me in subligar kinda like Kefka in FF6 final battle but better.

It's funny we cried about this game not being FF enough but lo and behold, it actually contains elements of EVERY numbered title to date.
The more time goes on, the more I am convinced that the only problem this game ever had was being prematurely launched... Which means, in time, that it has a really good chance of maturing into an incredible game.
The story is looking up, the dialogue has been getting better. The suspense is building, new maps are coming, Gold Saucer and Eorzean UNO. All we need now is for battles to feel like the Morbol battle in the opening movie and SE would have MMO GOLD

Go back and watch the opening movie... we can see dozens of enemies shooting out of the light... maybe hundreds (Kind of hard to tell)

Looks like all these Monsters are Bosses.. they look to Epic and strong looking to be a regular Mob.. :D.

I'm so glad this thread turned around... I was actually going to just completely ignore it, based on the way it started.

As far as what I've seen (and read), it looks like we are getting glimpses into 4 different elements (story-lines, expansions, events, etc) that could be coming in 2.0. Personally, I am fascinated by that possibility.

My 2 cents: (probably wild speculation, admittedly)

American: A Wyrm (possibly water based). I would guess 1 of 6 roaming wyrm HNMs; each representing an element. In XI the wyrms were protectors of Vana'diel (if I remember correctly)... Perhaps, they are something similar and are awakened by the imminent disaster that changes the world.

Japanese: Obviously, Behemoth. Possibly, a ground-king style HNM. No notable story tying it to the grand-scheme of things; just a roaming NM. Maybe, the next tier of roaming NMs along the vein of Mosshorn, Uraeus, & G. Buffalo (or Deadeyes, Tarbh Usigh, Zanig'oh)?

German: A Weapon. I want to say, linked to the Garlean Empire in some way... They're often tied to technologically advanced and ominous element. They're trump card to quell certain oppositions (eikons, wyrms, etc.)

French: The one that intrigues me the most... I would assume a re-imagining of Simurg, Roc, Zu, etc. (putting it in therealm of ground-king HNMs. I WANT to believe it to be a new iteration of Suzaku (I really, really, really do... the color-scheme DOES resemble Suzaku, a bit). A new "Sky" like element requiring progression through the main (or expansion-based) story-line, maybe?

Anyways... Just blabbering. I was bored and these were the first things that came to mind after poking through the thread. I'm probably completely wrong.

Problem with that one is in most these 4 gods - shijin

Seiryu 青龍　東 East　 青 Blue
Suzaku 朱雀　南 South　赤（朱） Red
Byakko 白虎　西 West　 白 White
Genbu 玄武　北 North 　黒（玄） Black

is the normal color used in most when talking about them so dunno if yellow dragon can be called Seiryu and Behemoth looking one surely not in white being Byakko.

I really don't think they look like the sky gods at all to be quite honest. First one I'd say is a cockatrice or something like that. Middle one is Behemoth, and the yellow dragon-ey thing looks like. Well. A yellow dragon thing. I have no idea how to describe that.

With the latest reveal for this picture, since what appeared to be a wing is actually a tail odds are this one isn't Suzaku. It has no indication of wings unless that last panel is somehow hiding them lol. The body type reminds me more of an FF11 cockatrice more then anything.

That bird looks nothing like Suzaku at all... Looks like a mix between a cockatrice and a dragon-like creature.

Actually it looks a lot like the raptors from monster hunter.

Thats not the point.. Its not new when people .dat mine.. sure.. but technically speaking, It shouldn't have been seen in the first place.. which is why to "SE" its New.. because people shouldn't be .dat mining in the first place.. but yep.. SE should have seen this one coming though.
