22.7gb update after relogging?

Same thing just happened to me. I guess I don't get to play today. Absolute joke.

This has happened to me twice, no power outage I just exited the game and turned my ps4 off. I turned it back on, logged in and....merry christmas 22.7gb of patches for no reason....is support going to acknowledge this post or what?

I know someone from Square Enix reads these. You guys just don't get it. We don't want to be on here complaining. Yes, some of us are demanding our money be refunded, but we're really just trying to get your attention. What we want is to be able to play Final Fantasy 14. I've told many friends that playing in that world just makes me smile! We'll I haven't had a chance to smile in the world you created since Friday morning, and that only lasted an hour. We want you to at least acknowledge that there's a problem and tell us your at least TRYING to resolve it. Is that REALLY too much to ask for? No one from Square Enix can spare 5 minutes to respond to the dozens of play station 4 players that have been unable to play your game for now almost a week??? Seriously???

Woke up this morning, want to play a bit before having to do my stuff, check the ps4, no power, power went off during the night, and in aleready knew that i was fucked up, now sitting on a 36 Hour download, thank you square enix -_-

agree with you, I never got a serious problem with my old console or pc w/o UPS.
but, till now we haven't receive any respond from the dev. I can't wait and do more re-download whole patches again and again :(

okay, so latest launcher update, doesn't fix it? omy gosh, the felling of nervous when playing, is killing me...
power outage is rare in my area, but it sure happens unpredictable in some ways

Whatchu mean? Like you unplugged it, and everything and it didn't have to download it again?

I've never been so frustrated with a launch of a game. I thought the release of Heavensward was bad but this takes the cake. I don't usually post in forums, but I felt the need to vent bc this is the SECOND time I'm downloading this 22 gb download. Someone on square PLEASE pay attention to your fan base. With all the problems from bottle necking the servers to this update I'm just half tempted to uninstall the game and cancel my sub.

Yup same problem on my PS4, I was playing the game and then had a power outage for a sec and now the launcher is re-downloading the whole game patches again!!!! 400 min! as far as I hear it will keep happening if my power goes again...Pls SE fix the bug soon!

Honestly my download finished yesterday and I am able to play normally but I'm really scared something out of my control will happen and I'll have to download those files again. That's what happened to me and to most people in this thread and I get that it's being looked into but it's extremely frustrating considering most of my friends are way ahead of me now.
22.7gb is no joke to most of us from what I've seen, it takes hours if not days to download. If it was a one-time thing only that wouldn't be as bad but it's bound to happen again if we're unlucky. We just want to play this game like everyone else and this problem isn't letting us. I was extremely upset when it happened to me and I can only imagine what other people that had to download it more than once are thinking, the frustration is real.

it seems backing up your game to your hardrive works fine so if u have a harddrive go for it! I also downloading it again Q.Q

I advice you plug your ps4 and modem to an UPS so you can shutdown your PS4 safely

What everyone is trying to say is that we love your game. I'm in love with what I've played of Stormblood so far. It's amazing! Thanks for everything that you've done for us thus far. It's because we love this game that we want to support it and to be able to play as much as possible. However there are those players like me that have limited play time, plus I have really bad internet. It's the best I can get in my area. It's just where I live. I've had my power to go out and I had to download it all. It took around 15 hours. It did the same thing to my wife. We were shocked because this has never happened before. When I do get to play we have so much fun, but we're scared that we may have to redownload everything again. The whole time I play I have anxiety and I constantly check to see if there's a response from you guys in hopes it's being worked on. Today I logged in as usual and I clicked start. It booted me back to the launcher. Then I logged in again and it gave me a red error message in every language. My heart sank, I thought I was going to have to redownload again, but I got lucky I guess. What I'm trying to say is, we love your game. We want a fix and that's why we're here telling you guys. I keep seeing things being fixed and right now Ruby Sea is being worked on again. Thank you for all your hard work. This issue is devastating to us PS4 players. We've never encountered this before. It's not like the duty problems. At least we can still play the game. This problem is really bad. It makes it to where some of us can't even play at all due to time/Internet connection. Having to redownload the same thing over and over is crippling to us and our data usage. Please look into this for us, we need you SE! We want to continue our journey together in the Far East!!!!

SE member in Reddit replied to me saying that they are still actively investigating the problem, and that it must be a bit harder to fix. Wows. Real, confidence booster right there.

Yeah it works!! The one I have doesn't have the 3.0 USB so there's that >_< It's like playing ffxiv with a little more adrenaline until I get my hands on one. I'd rather have SE fix it though so I don't have to rely on something external

I am on my 3rd time redownloading the patch, i cannot avoid the PS4 from shutting down incorrectly since i live in a 3rd world country, power outages are common, maybe once or twice per week.

Oh, no big deal, i just have to wait 1113 mins watching my screen.

I just logged in and had this happen to me. There was no power outages. My ps4 wasn't turned off. All I did was log out and close the game. Then I go to get back on and I have to download 22 gigs for no reason. This is really ticking me off. I'm just trying to enjoy the amazing expansion, now I'm thinking about not resubbing 'til the problems fixed because WHO KNOWS WHEN IT'LL BE FIXED.

Yeah I realized PS4 had an update when I logged in today!! I really hope this fix this issue

They got Sony to issue a global software update specifically to take care of this issue. Hopefully it works!

I think the update forced me to have to download the 22 gigs. In which I raged, deleted the game, and started to reinstall it. If it didn't, then there was literally no rhyme or reason as to why my ps4 that hadn't been shut off started that 22gig dl when none of the conditions in which cause it were met.

let's hope this fix everything

Anyone can confirm that the PS4 update is fix for this?

were you already downloading the 22 gigs before updating it or after you did it, it forced the download on you?

Still have to install the 22gbs. I did the ps4 update and played a bit then my power went out and was hoping that i didnt have to do it again but i do so it didnt fix anything 😡

The update will fix it right. Just woke up to the update no outtages left SB running while i slept in fear it would redownload. So do the update restarts and will you look at that another 22gb f'in download. Thank you SE

So... it was the PS4 version that we have now that wasn't compatible with the launcher? Also Sony announced a mini update today to make the PS4 more "stable". REJOICE!

So is there just absolutely no way around downloading the 22gb through the launcher? This is ridiculous! I've never played any game or mmo with an issue this significant where it prevents me from playing the damn game for days. I wish I could at least download it through psn or something because the downloading with the launcher for me gets so slow I might as well not even download.

I don't mind downloading the patch again if it is fixed.

Had anyone tested if the dl must be done again after the update if you have finished updating.

This is my question. I know some of you have had to re-install after the patch. However, does the problem persist where if you unplug/have an outage the game has to re install all 22.7 gb?

we need a soidier to test it XD?...i got a ups yesterday..because this thing has happened to me 5 times already XD.

Same here, it only happened to me after the last PS4 patch.
