UPDATE: you go into System Configuration - Graphic settings and put Real-time Reflections to "Maximum" and it will work *o*

Love that shot! Though yeah the bg had too much going on according to the rules.

And yeah, remember when I was discussing his lore with you? :p I told ya how when Louisoix teleported Mini into the future, the spell backfired a bit causing Mini to lose normal sight in that eye. However, he has a stronger ability to see mana/aether with it, which is what causes his black magic to be so strong :) And the stars are representations of the two best friends who were sadly killed in the Calamity.

I was really worried about Minion Madness because I thought it was my weakest shot. Here were some outtakes, but sadly I didn't have many because I had very little time to organize and shoot it. :< I also appear to have lost a good chunk of my screenshots recently?? Which is a bit worrying!!

Here are my outtakes for round 5, not many since Limsa really doesn't inspire me that much XD But here was an early concept, and an early take that didn't quite make my personal cut... plus Easter decor EVURWHUR!

I was a bit troubled by Limsa, because I already had a shot there by then (for another round) and I was really low on ideas. I ended up being inspired by Rongi's examples in the round description, where he listed being a thief. My costume ended up being a combination of the standard uniform and Milala's hat, going for someone that might be a bit higher ranked.
Initially I was going for a story involving a newbie adventurer being robbed:

And then said extra decided to become a Highlander, and I really wanted a Lalafell, because they're tiny and sneaky and scolding them compared to a bulky Highlander just seems better. So I made an alt on my boyfriend's account, levelled it so it could wear the costume and I spent an a few hours contiously scolding him. Poor love XD

I love the last one personally, but to me, there was just something about it that wasn't aesthetically pleasing to the eye...at least my eye ._.... sorry I've been a bit of a Debbie downer lately because of crap happening irl...I do regret my choice now...just thought at the time it was cute to see a tiny lalafell bossing this big oaf of a roe around...

The first alternate is awesome. I think that face reminds me a lot of Mini's personality!

It was a fun shot to play with...and I kind of regret not using one of these tbh...I don't remember what I was thinking at the time...I think it might have been the pose...since I had used that pose in the minion shot, maybe I didn't want to use the same one? I know I was trying to make each shot stand as alone as possible. Kind of wish I had gone with the first shot...but yeah...it's a bit too similar to my minion shot.

But it's so hard to time shots perfectly, and even when I did, never turned out the way I liked. Finalized concept A. This is one the mentors saw. I really liked the symmetry it achieved, but it didn't tell much of a story. Plus, after a FC member commented how it looks like the treant is spitting out a feather, I could not unsee.

Concept B. Not even sure how I got the idea for this, I think I was revisiting some sightseeing log locations for inspiration, when the good samaritan Whitemage duo struck me. This guy is an actual NPC, but Brun commented on how the ceiling cloth created some empty space, so she came over on an alt to get a better location. ._. Our time window was tiny, between 7 am and 8 am, since that's when you see the sun, but before weather change.

I knew what I wanted to do and spent a lot of time trying to get the shot I wanted.
Out of all those photo's I did keep one shot because I liked the background.
Reason it didn't get used was because my chocobo has no feet lol.

I was going to comment how I actually like the treant better than your entry...but once you said the bit about the feathers...I can't unsee it either XD It's still an amazing shot though! With great coloration and composition! However, this could pass as a shot of healing the treant rather than fighting it...after all, they did initially suffer from the wrath of the elementals in the Gridania storyline in 1.0. (Well, rather than suffer, they were more inflicted by the rage and dished out that rage to all trespassers if I remember correctly) And the treant appears more curious of you and your companion rather than angry/threatened.

I have come to realize that a looooot of my shots are the same (either very centered or very off to the side) and that I tried to make them more scenic than anything! XD With the release of each round, getting to see everyone's shots is a great learning experience for me :D Can't wait to see what's in store for the upcoming rounds!

Gosh Ade-sama as Au Ra! Whoo! (One of us, one of us!)

And yeah, Gangly, I find your shots very scenic and pretty, but my experience through lurking in past cycles has tought me that thinking outside the box and trying to go that extra mile really pushes the shots one takes to the next level. But I see great potential in you :o you got great feeling for colour composition I think and I really liked your limsa shot for its scenic feel. Keep working that camera and you'll be sure to rise up high in the next cycle!
