the shorter the parse the more of an effect x-pot will have
but usually around 40~ extra dps for a melee dps is what i've observed

whats the preferred dps rotation for single target / aoe currently??? I just hit 45 and want to start working my way to the perfect rotation now.. Im really confused as ijust learned my final mudra and want to put it into practice
Should Kassatsu be ONLY used after a TA or whenever it's off cooldown AFTER the initial sui+tri+ combo?
has anyone made a BIS using the flexibility of the relic?
I made a set based off my relic and it's pretty far above the non-crafted set I've posted in the OP.

Not sure it's "best" but still damn good IMO.

That's the BiS I came up with by iterating Acc and Crit by 1 point each, taking care to skip impossible values and then calculating the weights using 535 minimum accuracy and the default weights. I also avoided Flint Caviar. Note that this might very slightly over-value SS, but only slightly so. I'm also way too lazy to work out a crafted BiS, partially because I don't have a better tool than ariyala's site and partially because who could even afford it?
Rest in Pepperonis, Leaderboards.

3,716 rDPS.
The Novus for that specific meld should be 13ACC/ 31CRT/ 31DET if I'm not mistaken. +2 Acc, +6 crt, +7 DET.
Anyway, here's what I've come up with (Yes, pretty costly...)
http://ffxiv.ariyala.com/PWLJ
STR: 630
ACC: 535
CRT: 575
DET: 431
SS: 414
And then there's this....
http://ffxiv.ariyala.com/PWNA
DEX: 630
ACC: 535
CRT: 543
DET: 441
SS: 405
My own solver (Kind of)

You'll need to enable the excel solver add-in if you haven't already (it's in Options). I set the weighting to 0.176~, otherwise SS would've been waaay to high. I also should neaten up the spreadsheet as it looks awful compared to my other ones for Bard, Dragoon and Monk.
EDIT: Change PWLK to http://ffxiv.ariyala.com/PWNA instead.
Change platinum ring to 18ACC and 9 SS instead. Ooops.
I, for a long time have been omitting skill speed in my gear, but now that I visit the thread it seems like it is actually not a bad idea to get some. This is my current equipment and I have been trying to hit frontal t13 accuracy, which also seems to not be the norm. Can someone give me some tips/ideas?

I will be sticking with the augmented ironworks daggers, since I dont have a relic nor the dw daggers. Should I be trying to add more skillspeed? or dumping accuracy? or Perhaps one of the crafted accessories will be beneficial?
Thanks in advance for the help!

Hey guys whats the most ideal stats for Novus now days? (No money for IV materia) I heard 31 DET 22 CRIT 22 ACC is most ideal. I do plan to do T13 later as I progress. Some ppl say 33 crit / 23 det / 19 acc is most ideal for the Zodiac upgrade bonus? Any help would be appreciate.
33/23/19 is the cheapest you can do while not fucking up your weapon. ^^ It doesn't give you optimal stat bonuses either. But seriously, do it. If the acc on the weapon is wasted or not greatly depends on which other pieces you have (aka coil drop rng), so as long as you don't have a plethora of fcob drops and AIW pieces to mix and match, it doesn't really matter. You can always respec your weapon once you have the pieces/drops you want and enough gil to do so, so it's not a big deal to put some acc on the wep just for the sake of finishing it and to start working on the later relic steps.
You guys might kill me afterwards, but SS is weighs MUCH less than I thought... Comes after I:
1) Refixed Average Mudra GDC Clipping so it's more representative of Mudra's used in a full rotation cycle
2) Sunny Hirose noticed an issue in how DoTs were clipped in EMX's original spreadsheet, which I based my Ninja Model off. This overestimated the weighting of SS quite considerably.
3) An issue with buffs which MrYaah noticed.
Oops. The good news is that the Skillspeed in your BiS sets will be much lower, thus more TP :D Also means you require less crafted gear to be optimal, so everything is cheaper! Yay....
just give me the stat weights to I can plug it in :)
Still a few more things I want to fix up (+ I'm heavily invested in the Bard weights atm with MrYaah), but yeah it's MUCH lower. I'll post them soon.
I used .176 as you mentioned on a previous reply to use with the excel spreadsheet. Is it even lower than that number?
:D
10/char
give me!! preeez
I just did a rough estimate as he said way lower, and pushed SS down to 1.60 in weight, the only pieces that are crafted after that are head and belt.
WD: 9.085
STR/DEX: 1.000
DET: 0.313
CRT: 0.226
SS: 0.148
Copied from the post in the DRG thread I just made:
The Ninjitsu casts change a lot depending on how far you're into combat, but that's approximately what will happen. If someone has any questions, I'd gladly discuss and see if there's improvements that can be made.Quote:
One issue was was that in a full Ninja rotation cycle, which lasts around 88s btw (SS impacts it), my model was calculating 1 Huton, 1 Suiton and 3 Ration, when that's inaccurate. Its would be 1 Huton, 2 Suiton and 2 Ration. Suiton has a larger average GDC clip than a Ration, so that affects it quite considerably. If we were to have absolutely 0 GDC clipping on Mudras, the SS weighting goes up to 0.181.
The next issue was how I was originally calculating DoT clipping. I was speaking to MrYaah about it for a while and we both agreed that how I now do it is more representative of how DoTs work in this game (Also thanks to Sunny!) My model would assume that if you reapplied a DoT by 0.01, it would clip an entire tick, when that isn't really the case. DoTs are on a 3s global Timer, not an internal ability timer. Therefore, each time your skillspeed is increased, there's a higher chance you'll clip one tick of damage. Clipping let's say Phlebotomize 1.5s left into its duration would be a 50/50 chance of clipping a DoT tick, so we needed to model it completely different.
Thus, SS weighting for all jobs (Except monk, lol) decreased. The largest impact was the Bard. It's weighting on SS fell from 0.161 to 0.110 lol
Bard and Nin are so freaking hard to model :(
quick question regarding gear progression for nin, I recently started play earlier this month and currently i'm sitting at ilvl108ish, looking for the ideal order in which to get my poetics gear.
I currently have all 110 soldiery gear with the exception of Body and Legs being from WoD.
I was originally planning on buying Poetics Body > Rings > legs but of course WoD dropped body and legs for me, is it still worth going in that order or should I look into upgrading head/feet/hands with poetics first? Any help would be great, thanks!
Doton is also a useful Limit Gain move when used in tangent with Kassastu since every tick of Doton will then therefor crit and add to the limit gauge, that means for extremely long boss battles where you have the time to spend gaining limit you can use Doton in your rotation, though this would decrease your overall DPS for a time if you opt for limit gain over using that Kassastu with a Raikon on Fuma. Tested it a few weeks back with FC, this SHOULD mean that Shadow Fang and Mutilation should also effect the LB Gauge when they crit on a DoT, but that was something I forgot to test that day.
Also what's the math that's needed in order to calculate what each .001 point of a stat corralates to 1 actual point in-game?
Depends on if you're going to have access to final coil or not. Fcob will be farmable from March 31st onwards and all BiS pieces except for the ring drop in the first two turns, which would include hands, feet, belt (if you need the accuracy) and earring in turn 1 and headpiece and bracelet (if you're capped on acc) in turn 2. Good/BiS poe pieces are chest, pants, feet (if you need the acc), choker, obviously ring, so these are the pieces you should look at anyway. If you're not going to run fcob or plan to participate in endgame raiding content, seriously just get the whole poe set and upgrade it piece by piece, starting with the pieces you're still sitting on i110. WoD belt is very good even if you have access to fcob so you might just use that one. If you have lots of gil and are willing to spend them, crafted headpiece and belt are BiS, but that's more for the ones that want so squeeze the most out of their job. :)
Updated OP with new stat weights & removed old gear sets. I'll work on getting new sets up there a little later.
