PSA: Do not undercut people by 50k gil or more

Market Board is just another vendor.
I put something there, I wanna see it gone the next time I log in.
Someone undercuts me, I halve the price. Usually that has done the trick. Stormblood crafting mats cannot be a serious market anyway.

My item has sold, I've walked away happy with my nice 100k+ profit while having another item already up for sale. Buyer is happy because they have more gil leftover and that's allowing them to purchase something else they wanted. That makes a second seller happy.

2 reasonable sellers and 1 average buyer all happy.

1 greedy seller angry.

Looks like a net win.

If the item's value crashes, then the sellers have misjudged the market for the item.

Or they're wasting too much time babysitting their market listings and reacting to undercuts instead of playing the rest of the game.

It's not my job to manage your sale slots, time and tax. I'm going to optimize my own, which involves getting rid of items for a cheap price so I can free up a slot and sell more items. Buy the undercutter's item if you think it's underpriced, or mald and seethe in your chair.

I don't particularly care about how you choose to waste your time cutting your own profits because i just move over to other items. I was merely pointing out that the 10k profit you were talking about does not exist because of tax.

Wrong. If no one undercut it will still be 90k and people will still buy it.

I have to much gil. I undercut people for entertainment. I especially do this when people undercut me by 1. You undercut by 1. I undercut by 100k.

Jokes on you, i will undercut by 100k! No remorse!

And you know what? If i sell mats or materia, stuff that easily stacks high, i sell it in little stacks all undercutting by a lot so when people check the marketboard history they will only see my cheap prices! HA!

We have to pay for MB space. If you aren't paying you have very limited amount of space, you are kind of at the mercy of undercut or out something else up for sale. If we all had an equal amount of MB and storage space, then we could discuss undercutting.

FFXIV economy is busted economy since there are no limits on how much you can farm for mats and materials and so on. You can send out retainers constantly gathering and bringing bck mats. SE broke the economy the moment they allowed retainers to do that. So yea if I need to move stuff fast, I'm going to undercut and not loose a wink of sleep over it.
