Is bard in a bad spot right now?

Yeah we're pretty confident it will be a 2m cooldown by default - 2m party bursts should very nearly always be the required 20% stronger than their 90s windows. Whereas, if a fight is dying in 7:30 or something, we'd have the group go 0-2-4-7 for bursts, and RF at 5:30 in the interim. Or if there's wonky downtime we might be able to get something out of a 90s use.

To satisfy my own curiosity because I'm only good at following a rotation and not theory crafting myself, but doesn't Radiant Finale being used like that, Battle Voice being put down to 2 min, Apex Arrow/Blasting Arrow having a more consistent aspect to line up in burst windows, Blood letter charges, and Bard's overall change to a 2 minute cycle, alone bode REALLY well for BRD if we take it based off other jobs? Like the gap in rDPS between BRD and DNC was not enormous, and if BRD can more reliably sync up with burst windows, even with the nerfs to BS and RA, it just feels like just all that QoL and Radiant Finale really helps close the gap. Especially since Dancers Dances took a big potency hit as well.

Tech Finish is still 20s, but if you figure BV gets us about 80% of TF's value and RF gets us maybe 70% since that first one will be weaker, Bard should be much closer to DNC's rdps-added.

We'll have to see how it shakes out though, since obviously the personal damage profile can differ and DNC will still likely do more inside of 2m windows than BRD even if BRD is much better at that than it is has been. There's also the interaction of fight timings favoring one or the other, the potential for DNC's heals / or Warden's to be good in a fight etc.

They could have solved all this by just giving us Foe Requiem and Refresh role action back.

Not-so-fond memories of Foe Requiem, the enmity magnet for adds in every. single. boss fight. during ARR and HW.

I will not. It was objectively better to what we have now. Its that simple.

It's a conversational dead end. There's no point harping on it when there's nothing to discuss.

You could say, it'd be nice if Radiant was a little more like Foe, through some mix of maybe a shorter cooldown, maybe down the road we get some long-cd way to +1 seal etc. But it's pretty good as is.

The MT kit overall represents a some good, if tentative, steps in a positive direction. At this point, the most we can hope for is that SE takes a couple more small, confident steps to enhance the value and flexibility of what we've seen.

to be fair smn searing light requires carbuncle so if u are on baha / phoenix phase u cant use it.
