This. This right here.
There doesn't even NEED to be another reason to fix the job (although there are probably about a dozen). Nothing more even needs to be said.

So eh... from what I'm reading, don't play blm? I thought I was getting good and getting good was all that mattered. Are you telling me git gud is not a viable option?
You can be top blm player and it would not matter is where we are at
Here's the hard truth: SMN in particular outweighs it in literally every scenario, so if you're going to play a caster and you're concerned about maximizing efficiency, don't bother playing BLM right now in speed runs or unending coil.
BLM is capable of clearing savage but it is not "competitive" with SMN even outside of speedkilling, not to mention dealing will give you a massive headache while SMN is a breeze as such, so play in savage at your own peril.
BLM is still formidable in level 70 dungeons and extreme trials, although SMN is still better here but it matters less.
I WOULD NOT recommend playing SMN in anything that is synced below level 70, as not having Bahamut/DoT IIIs/other skills at level 50 or lower is a huge gimp and it's really obnoxious to play, so this content is where BLM "excels" over SMN (Mentor roulette, trial roulette, alliance roulette).
BLM is mostly enjoyable to play save for dealing with movement mechanics, but it is falsely advertised as the strongest damage lowest utility caster. Meanwhile, who doesn't like using Deathflare and Enkindle Bahamut? ;)
Listen, Finkle, with all due respect, this thread is about BLM being severely outweighed at endgame with perfect efficiency in mind. I don't mean to offend, but what you're trying to say is irrelevant to the conversation.
We ARE sure that this is the case, and if you don't trust us, I suggest you research it a little more.
This is sadly a true for most groups, while that does hurt the community's perception of BLM... Even when the BLM is good andd the group is great, they would still be better off with any other mage. Or a Machinist.
The truth SE doesn't want to deal with. On a casual level, the group will have a hard time understanding you'll do as little movement as possible and this might hurt them. On a high skill level, you'd be doing more damage as another job. Why even play BLM?
Doing the new rotation with Hearts feels absolute garbage before Triplecast and Foul. I usually just prefer RDM for sync content. The fact they didn't care to rebalance older levels and RDM does a lot more than everyone else earlier is also a facotor in that decision :p
Idk I love when Foul crits for like 32k or more.
