It's not an issue of right and wrong, It's an issue of play style. The other party wanted competition and when your party was confronted with said competition they folded. There are a couple different ways to handle the situation without using any anima, defend your position by out-claiming the other party, or move to a different camp within the stronghold.

Will be tough to circumvent this. It was an issue in XI, issue here. Perhaps NM's should be instanced?

Absolutely not, the competition for the claim is a lot of fun for a lot of people. The respawn timers are as they are now so that everyone can have a chance.

it kinda already is

The logon screen instance needs to be simplified too while we're at it. I can never beat the boss in that instance. Plus, the weapons it drops are too weak compared to gear made with materia and the models they used are terrible. And the boss glitches due to server mechanics.... And... It wasn't like that in FFXI.
